Luca Cagnoni
Luca Cagnoni (born December 21, 2004) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman for the San Jose Barracuda of the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract to the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected by the Sharks in the fourth round, with the 123rd overall pick, of the 2023 NHL entry draft. Playing career Junior Cagnoni joined the Portland Winterhawks of the Western Hockey League (WHL) in November 2020 after a 30-minute practice tryout while the team was on a road trip in Langley, British Columbia to play the Vancouver Giants. After the 30-minute drills, the team thought highly enough of him to take a chance on him and signed him. Cagnoni only played ten games with the Winterhawks in the 2020–21 season which had been cut short from 68 games to 24 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. 2023–24 WHL Season
The 2023–24 WHL season was the 58th season of the Western Hockey League (WHL). The regular season started on September 22, 2023, and ended on March 24, 2024, with the playoffs beginning on March 28 and ending on May 15. The Moose Jaw Warriors won their first Ed Chynoweth Cup in franchise history, defeating the Portland Winterhawks in the championship series, and earned a spot in the 2024 Memorial Cup. In ice hockey, an assist is attributed to up to two players of the scoring team who shot, passed or deflected the Puck (sports)#In ice hockey, puck towards the scoring teammate, or touched it in any other way which enabled the Goal (ice hockey), goal, meaning that they were "assisting" in the goal. William Eklund
William Eklund (born 12 October 2002) is a Swedish professional ice hockey forward for the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career Eklund made his debut in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) on 4 January 2020, playing for Djurgårdens IF in a 4–2 win away against IK Oskarshamn. He played a total of 20 regular season games and scoring two points during the rest of the 2019–20 SHL season. He collected five points in his first eight games in the 2020–21 SHL season.
