Luc Van Slooten
Luc David Van Slooten (born April 17, 2002) is a German professional basketball player for Rasta Vechta of the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL). He plays both the small forward and power forward positions. Van Slooten is considered one of the top European prospects at his age. Early life and career Van Slooten was born in Vechta, Germany to Birgit and André Van Slooten. He began playing basketball at the youth levels with TSV Quakenbrück. In the 2015–16 season, Van Slooten drew attention with Young Rasta Dragons, the youth team for German club Rasta Vechta that competed in the Jugend Basketball Bundesliga (JBBL), an under-16 league. Despite being 14 years old at the time, he averaged 14.2 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists. In the following season, Van Slooten was a top player for Young Rasta Dragons. Albert Schweitzer Tournament
The DBB Albert Schweitzer Tournament (, abbreviated as AST), full name DBB Albert Schweitzer World Under-18 Tournament (), is an international basketball competition that is played between national teams of the Under-18 men's age category. It takes place every two years in Mannheim, Germany, and is contested between teams from 12 countries. The organizers of the tournament are the German Basketball Federation (, abbreviated as DBB), and the city of Mannheim. The tournament is named after Albert Schweitzer. Since FIBA does not organize an Under-18 world championship, the Albert Schweitzer Tournament is internationally recognized and considered an official non-FIBA organized world championship for the Under-18 age group. Phoenix Hagen is a German professional basketball club that is based in Hagen, Germany. After withdrawing from the Basketball Bundesliga in November 2016, Phoenix Hagen re-launched its basketball team for the 2017-18 ProA season. The ProA is Germany's second division of professional basketball. Crailsheim Merlins, currently referred to as Hakro Merlins Crailsheim for sponsorship reasons, is a professional basketball club based in Crailsheim, Germany. Established in 1986, the club plays in the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL), the highest professional league in Germany. The club is a part of the multi-sports club TSV Crailsheim. Home games are played in the Arena Hohenlohe, which has a capacity of 3,000 people. History The club was founded on 31 January 1986 by a group of students. Until 1994, the team was only active at the lower local leagues and had problems in finding a hall to play at. The EuroLeague is a European men's professional basketball club competition. The league is widely recognised as the top-tier and the most prestigious men's basketball league in Europe. The league consists of 20 teams, of which 16 are given long-term licences and wild cards, making the league a semi-closed league.
