Luana Persíncula Andino (born October 18, 2001), known mononymously as Luana is a Uruguayan singer and television personality. She began her career performing at folk music festivals and performing covers of well-known hits. Early life Luana Persíncula Andino was born on October 18, 2001, in Colonia del Sacramento, to Óscar Persíncula and Soraya Andino. She is of Portuguese and Basque descent. She attended Primary School No. 82 and began singing from an early age in her school choir and in church. She was raised as an Evangelical Christian. Career Persíncula began her musical career in early 2018 by releasing plena-style covers of Karol G's single "A ella" and Abel Pintos' "Oncemil", both of which gained millions of views on YouTube. COVID-19 Pandemic In Uruguay
The COVID-19 pandemic in Uruguay has resulted in confirmed cases of COVID-19 and deaths. The first cases in Uruguay were reported on 13 March 2020 by the Ministry of Public Health. The early cases were imported from Italy and Spain, with some local transmissions. The majority of early cases were traced to a wedding with 500 people in attendance in Montevideo, attended by a Uruguayan fashion designer who returned from Spain and later tested positive. Various containment measures were introduced in mid-March, and major restrictions on movement followed in late March. Uruguay is one of the few countries in Latin America to have been able to avoid large outbreaks for a considerable amount of time due to their closing of borders with neighboring countries.
