Lower Fox Conference
The Lower Fox Conference is a former high school football conference with its membership concentrated in the lower Fox River valley in southeastern Wisconsin. Founded in 1933 and playing its last season in 1936, the conference's member schools belonged to the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association. History The Lower Fox Conference was formed in 1933 by five small high schools in southeastern Wisconsin: East Troy, Mukwonago, Racine County Agricultural, Waterford and Wilmot Union. All original members with the exception of East Troy belonged to the Southeastern Wisconsin Conference for other sports, which did not sponsor football at that time. Fellow SEC members Union Grove and Williams Bay joined in 1934, and the conference maintained its seven-member lineup until its last season was played in 1936. Southern Regional Conference
The Southern Regional Conference is a former high school athletic conference in southeastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois, operational from 1937 to 1958. Member schools were associated with either the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association or Illinois High School Association. History 1937-1949 The Southern Regional Conference was formed from a split of four member schools from the Southeastern Wisconsin Conference in 1937: Clinton, Darien, Genoa City and Williams Bay. Williams Bay, Wisconsin
Williams Bay is a village in Walworth County, Wisconsin, United States. It is one of three municipalities on Geneva Lake. The population was 2,953 at the 2020 census. On June 22, 2024 the town was hit by an EF-1 tornado, there were no injuries or fatalities, but the storm caused some areas of considerable damage. History The village was named for Captain Israel Williams of Massachusetts, who, with several of his sons, settled in the area in 1837. Much of the surrounding area was settled in the early 19th century by surveyors plotting roadways from the East. Williams Bay became a vacation spot for wealthy Chicagoans displaced by the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. The village continues to attract vacationers from Chicago, Milwaukee and elsewhere.
