Lowell Technical Institute Dormitory
Kenneth R. Fox Hall, also known as Fox Hall, is a residence hall and student dining facility in Lowell, Massachusetts. It is within the residence hall cluster on the East Campus of the University of Massachusetts Lowell. At 18 stories and 226 feet (69 meters) in height, it is the tallest building in the city of Lowell. When it was built, it was known as the Lowell Technical Institute Dormitory. The building is home to more than 800 students and UMass Lowell's largest student-dining hall, Fox Dining Commons. The transmitter for the university's radio station, WUML, is located at Fox Hall. Emporis was a real estate data mining company with headquarters in Hamburg, Germany. The company collected data and photographs of buildings worldwide, which were published in an online database from 2000 to September 2022. Emporis was acquired by CoStar Group in October 2020. WUML
WUML (91.5 FM) is a non-commercial college radio station licensed to Lowell, Massachusetts, United States. The station is owned by the University of Massachusetts Lowell. The transmitter is atop Fox Hall on Pawtucket Street in Lowell. History WUML was started in 1952 by Ed Bonacci, a student attending what was then called the Lowell Technological Institute. After accidentally building a transmitter in his dorm room, a studio was built in Kitson Hall, with a 5-10 watt transmitter located in the basement of the old library. At exactly 7:00 pm on January 15, 1953, the newly christened WLTI began broadcasting on carrier current over electrical power wires specifically to Eames and Smith Hall, as well as Alumni Library on the University's North Campus.
