Lover Boy (1989 Film)
''Lover Boy'' is a 1989 Australian romantic drama film directed by Geoffrey Wright. It stars Noah Taylor and Gillian Jones. Plot In the western suburbs of Melbourne, shy teenage misfit Mick (Noah Taylor) is volunteered by his mother to mow the lawns of her friend Sally (Gillian Jones). Mick and Sally soon become lovers, drawn to each other for different reasons – Mick from typical adolescent sexuality and Sally from desperate loneliness. The relationship leads to conflict and eventually violence. Geoffrey Wright
Geoffrey Wright (born 1959) is an Australian film director and screenwriter, who gained cult success with the 1992 film ''Romper Stomper'', starring Russell Crowe. In 1994 he directed the gritty suburban thriller film '' Metal Skin'', starring Ben Mendelsohn, and later directed the teen horror film '' Cherry Falls'', starring Brittany Murphy. Between that, he attempted to do a film, ''Instinct'', for Mandalay Entertainment and Roger Birnbaum, but it was cancelled before casting and filming ever started. Peter Hosking (actor)
Peter Hosking (born 19 December 1947) is an Australian actor and audiobook narrator. Education Hosking graduated from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology with a Diploma of Civil Engineering. Career Hosking started acting professionally at The Pram Factory in Melbourne in 1978. In 1996, Hosking received TDK Australian Audio Book Award for ''Home Before Dark''. The same year, he starred in an episode of ''Halifax f.p.''. In 2002 he created ''Nu Country TV'', a country music show on community tv station C31 Melbourne. He produced, filmed and edited this show for four years. The show is still running in 2017. Daniel Pollock
Daniel John Pollock (24 August 1968 – 13 April 1992) was an Australian film actor. He was perhaps best known for his role as Davey in the 1992 drama film ''Romper Stomper''. Personal life Pollock was born in Melbourne, Victoria, the son of John and Lucy Pollock. Pollock attended Swinburne Senior Community School in the Melbourne suburb of Hawthorn in the mid-1980s. Career Pollock acted in the films '' Lover Boy'' (1989), '' Nirvana Street Murder'' (1990), ''Death in Brunswick'' (1991) and ''Proof'' (1991). Pollock's last performance was in the 1992 film ''Romper Stomper'' alongside New Zealand actor Russell Crowe. Pollock was posthumously nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 1992 AFI Awards for the role. Death Pollock died on 13 April 1992 at the age of 23. The cause of death was suicide by rail.
