''Love Metal Archives Vol. 1'' is a DVD compilation by Finnish band HIM, released in 2005 and featuring all the videos up until the '' And Love Said No: The Greatest Hits 1997-2004'' compilation. This is the second DVD compilation released by HIM. The DVD is titled ''Love Metal'' as the last studio album before this was ''Love Metal''. HIM (Finnish Band)
HIM (sometimes stylized as H.I.M.) was a Finnish gothic rock band from Helsinki. First formed in 1991 by vocalist Ville Valo and bassist Mikko "Mige" Paananen under the name His Infernal Majesty, the band broke up after only a few years, only to be reformed in 1995 by Valo and guitarist Mikko "Linde" Lindström. After being rejoined by Mige, as well as keyboardist Antto Melasniemi and drummer Juhana "Pätkä" Rantala, the band, now called HIM, released its debut album '' Greatest Lovesongs Vol. 666'' in 1997. In 2000, now with drummer Mika "Gas Lipstick" Karppinen and keyboardist Juska Salminen, the band released '' Razorblade Romance'', which reached the number one spot in Finland, Austria and Germany. The first single "Join Me in Death" also charted at number one in Finland and Germany, eventually going platinum and gold, respectively. "The Funeral of Hearts" is a song by the Finnish band HIM, released in 2003. It is the second track and first single from the album ''Love Metal''. It is one of HIM's most popular songs and was usually used to close live shows. It was nominated for the Kerrang! Award for Best Single. A music video was filmed for the song, produced by Stefan Lindfors. It was filmed in the surroundings of Umeå, Sweden. It shows the band performing in a dream-like winter atmosphere in Lapland, and encountering mythical creatures. In 2004 it won a Kerrang! award for Best Video. ''Deep Shadows and Brilliant Highlights'' is the third studio album by Finnish gothic rock band HIM, released 27 August 2001. The album was produced co-produced by the band, T. T. Oksala and Kevin Shirley. The record had a troubled production, which lasted approximately eleven months. The prolonged recording process was partially due outside influences within the music industry hoping to repeat the success of HIM's previous album. As a result, ''Deep Shadows and Brilliant Highlights'' features a sleeker and more pop-oriented sound. It is the first HIM album to feature keyboardist Janne "Burton" Puurtinen. ''Deep Shadows and Brilliant Highlights'' received mixed reviews from music critics. While some gave praise to the songwriting and Ville Valo's vocal performance, most were highly critical of the production and overall commercial sound. Razorblade Romance
''Razorblade Romance'' is the second studio album by Finnish gothic rock band HIM. HIM initially began recording the album with producer Hiili Hiilesmaa, who had helmed the group's 1997 debut album, however these sessions proved unsuccessful, and HIM parted ways with Hiilesmaa, and recruited John Fryer. The band, along with Fryer, relocated to Rockfield Studios in Wales to begin recording, and released the album on 24 January 2000. Musically, the album featured a sleeker production and a more melodic sound compared to their debut. The album's lead single "Join Me in Death" would prove to be HIM's breakthrough single, reaching number one in Finland and Germany. The song also found its way on to the soundtrack of the 1999 science fiction film '' The Thirteenth Floor''. Black Sabbath
Black Sabbath were an English rock band formed in Birmingham in 1968 by guitarist Tony Iommi, drummer Bill Ward, bassist Geezer Butler and vocalist Ozzy Osbourne. William Michael Albert Broad (born 30 November 1955), known professionally as Billy Idol, is a British-American singer, songwriter, and musician. He first achieved fame in the 1970s emerging from the London punk rock scene as the lead singer of the group Generation X. Subsequently, he embarked on a solo career which led to international recognition and made Idol a lead artist during the MTV-driven "Second British Invasion" in the United States. "Rebel Yell" is a song by English-American rock musician Billy Idol. It is the title track of his 1983 album of the same name, and was released as the album's lead single on 24 October 1983.
