''#LoveJo'' is the debut extended play (EP) by American recording artist JoJo (singer), JoJo. It was released for digital download on February 14, 2014, as a free Valentine's Day gift for JoJo's fans for all their support over the years. It is JoJo's first official release since she was released from her contract with Blackground Records and signed to Atlantic Records. The four-track EP includes three covers of various classic songs including songs of Atlantic-affiliated artists Anita Baker and Phil Collins. Composition The extended play contributed the overall elements of sounds between pop and Contemporary R&B, R&B; however, the EP dips into other genres such Gospel music, gospel and soul music. The EP opens with a spoken intro which is a poem, written by author Aeni, while R&B singer Marsha Ambrosius produces the tracks melody. Joanna Noëlle "JoJo" Levesque (; born December 20, 1990) is an American singer, songwriter and actress. She began performing in singing competitions and local talent shows as a child. In 2003, record producer Vincent Herbert noticed her after she competed on the television show ''America's Most Talented Kids'' and asked her to audition for his record label Blackground Records. After signing with the label, JoJo released her debut album JoJo (album), ''JoJo'' in 2004. Da Internz are an American music production team originating from Chicago and currently based in Los Angeles. The duo is composed of Marcos " Kosine" Palacios and Ernest Tuo Clark. Da Internz describe their sound as "gourmet ratchet", meaning imperfect but excellent. Background Both men state that they were born to make music. Marcos’ mother started him in piano tuition at six years old. He picked up the saxophone in 5th grade and the drums in 8th grade. The team came together in 2004 when Palacios was a student at Columbia College Chicago and Clark was working for Conquer Records in management and A&R. "Take Me Home" is a song written and performed by English drummer, singer and songwriter Phil Collins. It is the tenth and final track on Collins' third solo album, ''No Jacket Required''. ''Agápē'' is the second mixtape by American singer JoJo. It is of extended play (EP) length, unlike the previous mixtape. The mixtape was announced in early November 2012. JoJo recorded material specifically intended for the mixtape as she did not want to keep her fans waiting for new music any longer. Released on her 22nd birthday on December 20, 2012, it marked the follow-up to her 2010 mixtape '' Can't Take That Away from Me'', which spawned the single and video for " In the Dark".
