Louise J. Kaplan
Louise Janet Kaplan, o.s. Miller, (18 November 1929, New York City – 9 January 2012, New York) was an American psychologist and psychoanalyst best known for her research into childhood development. Kaplan authored seven books including the 1991 book, ''Female Perversions: The Temptations of Emma Bovary'' which was made into the 1996 film ''Female Perversions'' starring Tilda Swinton. Mount Sinai Beth Israel was a 799-bed teaching hospital in Manhattan. It was part of the Mount Sinai Health System, a nonprofit health system formed in September 2013 by the merger of Continuum Health Partners and Mount Sinai Medical Center, and an academic affiliate of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
