Louisa Horton
Louisa Fleetwood Horton (September 20, 1920 – January 25, 2008) was an American film, television and stage actress, who used her given name, Louisa Horton, professionally. She was the former wife of the late ''The Sting'' director, George Roy Hill, with whom she had four children. Early life Horton was born to Jeter Rice and Frances Breckinridge (née Steele) Horton in Beijing, China. The daughter of a United States Marine Corps officer, she was raised in Haiti and the area around Washington, D.C. Career Horton made her feature film debut in ''All My Sons (film), All My Sons'' in 1948, opposite Edward G. Robinson and Burt Lancaster in a film based upon the play by Arthur Miller. Her additional film credits included ''Swashbuckler (film), Swashbuckler'', a 1976 film starring James Earl Jones and Robert Shaw (actor), Robert Shaw. Repertory
A repertory theatre, also called repertory, rep, true rep or stock, which are also called producing theatres, is a theatre in which a resident company presents works from a specified repertoire, usually in alternation or rotation. United Kingdom Annie Horniman founded the first modern repertory theatre in Manchester after withdrawing her support from the Abbey Theatre in Dublin. Horniman's Gaiety Theatre opened its first season in September 1908. The opening of the Gaiety was followed by the Citizens' Theatre in Glasgow, the Liverpool Repertory Theatre and the Birmingham Repertory Theatre. Previously, regional theatre relied on mostly London touring ensembles. During the time the theatre was being run by Annie Horniman, a wide variety of types of plays were produced. ''Walk East on Beacon'' is a 1952 American film noir drama film directed by Alfred L. Werker and starring George Murphy, Finlay Currie, and Virginia Gilmore. It was released by Columbia Pictures. The screenplay was inspired by a May 1951 ''Reader's Digest'' article by J. Edgar Hoover entitled "The Crime of the Century: The Case of the A-Bomb Spies." The article covers the meeting of German physicist and atomic spy Klaus Fuchs and American chemist Harry Gold as well as details of the Soviet espionage network in the United States. Gold's testimony would later lead to the case against Julius and Ethel Rosenberg for treason. The film substitutes real atomic spying with vague top secret scientific programs.
