Lou (German Singer)
Louise Hoffner (born 27 October 1963), known professionally as Lou, is a German pop singer. She toured with her band for 15 years, in Germany as well as abroad. Eurovision Lou participated in the 2001 Eurovision national finals, coming in third place. Shortly before Christmas 2002, composer Ralph Siegel asked her if she would be interested in competing in the national finals again with " Let's Get Happy", a song he had written with lyricist Bernd Meinunger. The Eurovision Song Contest 2001 was the 46th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Copenhagen, Denmark, following the country's victory at the with the song " Fly on the Wings of Love" by Olsen Brothers. Ralph Siegel (songwriter)
Ralph Siegel (born 30 September 1945) is a German record producer and songwriter. Siegel is one of the most notable figures at the Eurovision Song Contest, in which he has participated with 24 songs so far, among them the 1982 winner song Ein bisschen Frieden. Life and career Ralph Siegel was born the son of composer and of singer Ingeborg Döderlein. Siegel is a prolific producer in the German genre of Schlager music. Since the early 1970s, he worked with artists like Udo Jürgens, Mary Roos, Heino, Rex Gildo, Michael Holm, Chris Roberts, Costa Cordalis, Mireille Mathieu, Peter Alexander, Roy Black, Karel Gott and Marianne Rosenberg. Since 1972 has participated with 24 songs in the Eurovision Song Contest, the latest being the 2017 Sammarinese entry " Spirit of the Night" by Valentina Monetta and Jimmie Wilson. Let's Get Happy
Germany was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 with the song "Let's Get Happy", composed by Ralph Siegel, with lyrics by Bernd Meinunger, and performed by Louise Hoffner, more commonly referred to as Lou. The German participating broadcaster on behalf of ARD, (NDR), organised the national final ''Countdown Grand Prix Eurovision 2003'' in order to select their entry for the contest. The national final took place on 7 March 2003 and featured fourteen competing acts with the winner being selected through two rounds of public voting. Bernd Meinunger
Bernd Meinunger (born 30 September 1944) is a German lyricist and record producer (with Hanne Haller) who frequently works with Ralph Siegel and David Brandes. Several of his songs have represented Germany in the ''Eurovision Song Contest''. Career Meinunger co-wrote the song "Tut-Ench-Amun" with Horst Hornung and Christian Dornaus. Corinna May (born 6 October 1970 in Bremen, Germany as Corinna Meyer) is a blind singer from Germany. She is best known for competing in the 2002 Eurovision Song Contest with the song "I Can't Live Without Music". Career From an early age she was interested in music due to her father's love of jazz. She also sang in a school choir and a gospel choir. After several talent competitions, May could release her first album in 1997; a jazz album, produced by herself. Two years later, she released an album called ''Wie ein Stern'' (''Like a Star''). Her final breakthrough came in 1999 with the German preselections for the Eurovision Song Contest. She won, but her song “ Hör den Kindern einfach zu” ("Just listen to the children") was disqualified because it was already released on an album by someone else. Maximilian Nepomuk Mutzke (born 21 May 1981) is a German singer, songwriter and television personality. He gained public interest in early 2004 when he won ''SSDSGPS'', a talent contest hosted in Stefan Raab's late-night show ''TV total''.
