Lottie Woad
Charlotte Woad (born 17 January 2004) is an English amateur golfer. She won the 2022 Girls Amateur Championship and 2024 Augusta National Women's Amateur, and reached number one in the World Amateur Golf Ranking in June 2024. Golf career In 2021, Woad won the Welsh Women's Open Stroke Play Championship. In May 2022, she made her debut on the Ladies European Tour in the Madrid Open. In August 2022, Woad won the Girls Amateur Championship. Woad enrolled at Florida State University in 2022 and started playing with the Florida State Seminoles women's golf team. She was WGCA Freshman of the Year, and as a junior FSU Female Athlete of the Year and ACC Golfer of the Year. In April 2024, Woad won the Augusta National Women's Amateur. In May, she finished runner-up to Adéla Cernousek in the individual competition at the NCAA Division I women's golf championship. Women's PGA Championship
The Women's PGA Championship (branded as the KPMG Women's PGA Championship for sponsorship reasons) is a women's professional golf tournament. First held in 1955, it is one of five majors on the LPGA Tour. It is not recognized as a major by the Ladies European Tour, which does not recognize any of the three majors played in the United States. Arnold Palmer Cup
The Arnold Palmer Cup is an annual team golf competition for college/university golfers. It is named for Arnold Palmer. From 2018 it has been contested between a United States team and an International team representing the rest of the world. The teams consist of 12 men and 12 women. The teams are selected on the basis of nationality, not according to the location of the players' universities. The 2025 event was held from June 5 to 7 at Congaree Golf Club, in Gillisonville, South Carolina. History From its foundation in 1997 until 2017 the event was only contested by men. Vagliano Trophy
The Vagliano Trophy is a biennial women's amateur golf tournament. It is co-organised by The R&A and the European Golf Association and is contested by teams representing "Great Britain and Ireland" and the "Continent of Europe". It is played in odd-numbered years; the Curtis Cup being played in even-numbered years. The event started in 1931 as a match between Great Britain and France. It was played annually from 1931 to 1939 and from 1947 to 1949, before becoming a biennial event from 1949 to 1957. Britain won 15 of the 16 matches with the 1934 match being tied. From 1949 to 1957 Great Britain had also played a biennial match against Belgium. In 1959 the two matches were replaced by one with Britain playing a team representing the Continent of Europe, the Vagliano Trophy being used for the new event. Patsy Hankins Trophy
The Patsy Hankins Trophy is a women's amateur golf competition on the model of the Ryder Cup, corresponding to the men's Bonallack Trophy. The competition opposes every two years a European team and a team representing Asia/Pacific, and the venue alternates between courses in Europe and Asia/Pacific. The Trophy is named after Patsy Hankins (1945–2015), one of the most respected golf administrators New Zealand has produced. 2023 Espirito Santo Trophy
The 2023 Espirito Santo Trophy took place 25–28 October at Abu Dhabi Golf Club in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It was the 30th women's golf World Amateur Team Championship for the Espirito Santo Trophy. Format The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event. Each team of three players played four rounds. The best two scores for each round counted towards the team total. Venue Abu Dhabi Golf Club had previously hosted the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship on the European Tour 2006 to 2021. The 2022 Espirito Santo Trophy took place 24–27 August at Le Golf National and Golf de Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche south-west of Paris, France. It was the 29th women's golf World Amateur Team Championship for the Espirito Santo Trophy. Format The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event. Each team of three players played two rounds at Le Golf National and two rounds at Golf de Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche in different orders. The top teams played their final round on Le Golf National, The best two scores for each round counted towards the team total. Venues Le Golf National had previously hosted the Open de France every year except two since 1991, the 2018 Ryder Cup and the 1994 Eisenhower Trophy and Espirito Santo Trophy. Espirito Santo Trophy
The Espirito Santo Trophy (World Women's Amateur Team Championships) is a biennial world amateur team golf championship for women organised by the International Golf Federation. The inaugural event was held in 1964. It was instituted by the French Golf Federation in an agreement with the United States Golf Association. It was planned by Lally Segard, at the time known as Vicomtesse de Saint Sauveur, from France and Mrs. Henri Prunaret from America. Segard also asked her friends Ricardo and Silvia Espirito Santo, from Portugal, to donate a trophy for the event, which they did. They had originally bought the golden cup, which had belonged to Tsar Nicholas II of Russia, for an international Portuguese event that was not played anymore. The 2023 European Ladies' Team Championship took place 11–15 July at Tawast Golf & Country Club in Hämeenlinna, Finland. It was the 40th women's golf amateur European Ladies' Team Championship. The 2022 European Ladies' Team Championship took place 5–9 July at Conwy Golf Club in Conwy County Borough, Wales, United Kingdom. It was the 39th women's golf amateur European Ladies' Team Championship. Venue Conwy Golf Club was formed in 1890. European Ladies' Team Championship
The European Ladies' Team Championship is a European amateur team golf championship for women organised by the European Golf Association. The inaugural event was held in 1959. It was played in odd-numbered years from 1959 to 2007 and has been played annually since 2008 (with the exception of 2012). Format Currently, the championship is contested by up to 20 teams, each of 6 players. The format consists of two rounds of strokeplay, out of which the five lowest scores from each team's six players will count each day. The total addition of the five lowest scores will constitute the team's score and determine the teams qualified for the last three rounds of matchplay. Only teams in contention for a medal will play a match format of two foursomes and five singles, while the other teams will play a one foursome and four singles match format. Women's And Men's Home Internationals
The Women's and Men's Home Internationals are an amateur team golf championship for women and men, between the four Home Nations. Ireland are represented by the whole island of Ireland.The event is organised by The R&A. The inaugural event was held in 2022 and superseded separate Women's and Men's events. Format The championship is played over three days with the four teams competing against each other in individual matches. Each team has 16 players, 7 women and 9 men. A match consists of 7 foursomes (3 women and 4 men) and 14 singles (6 women and 8 men) each over 18 holes.
