Loto (actor)
Suon Bou, known as Loto (1936-August 7, 2006), was a Cambodian actor. Loto was a famous comic actor during the "Sangkum Reastr Niyum" era, and was featured in many well-known films of the time. He was consistently cast in comic roles because of his size. He is the shortest star in Cambodian history. Phnom Penh
Phnom Penh (; km, ភ្នំពេញ, ) is the capital and most populous city of Cambodia. It has been the national capital since the French protectorate of Cambodia and has grown to become the nation's primate city and its economic, industrial, and cultural centre. Phnom Penh succeeded Angkor Thom as the capital of the Khmer nation but was abandoned several times before being reestablished in 1865 by King Norodom. Mean Chey ( km, មានជ័យ, , lit. "Victorious") is an administrative district (''khan'') located in the south-eastern part of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. As of 2019, due to boundary changes, its population decreased from 2008 but is the second most populous district of Phnom Penh. Administration According to the 1998 census, Mean Chey consisted of eight Sangkats with a total population of 157,112; the population recorded by the 2008 census was 266,865. In 2010 Khan Mean Chey was expanded by incorporating four communes from Kien Svay District, Kandal Province: Kbal Kaoh, Preaek Aeng, Preaek Thmei and Veal Sbov. In 2013, the latter four Sangkats, along with Chbar Ampov Ti Muoy, Chbar Ampov Ti Pir, Nirouth and Preaek Pra formed a new entity, Khan Chbar Ampov, taking Mean Chey's number of Sangkats to four. ''The Joy of Life'' is a 2005 experimental landscape documentary film by filmmaker Jenni Olson about the history of suicide at the Golden Gate Bridge, and the adventures of a butch lesbian in San Francisco, California. Following its January 2005 premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, the film played a pivotal role in renewing debate about the need for a suicide barrier on the Golden Gate Bridge and garnered praise and awards for its unique filmmaking style. The film combines 16mm landscape cinematography with a lyrical voiceover (performed by LA-based artist/actor Harriet “Harry” Dodge) to share two San Francisco stories: the history of the Golden Gate Bridge as a suicide landmark, and the story of a lesbian in San Francisco searching for love and self-discovery.
