Lotic (musician)
J’Kerian Morgan (born March 22, 1989), known professionally as Lotic, is an American electronic musician based in Berlin. Lotic rose to prominence through her involvement with the Janus Collective in the early 2010s as well as with a string of EPs released during this time. She was invited by Björk to produce two official '' Vulnicura'' remixes in 2016. Her full-length debut, ''Power'', was released in 2018. Early life Morgan was born and raised in southwest Houston, in what '' Mix'' magazine describes as a "strong black community". She began learning the alto saxophone at the age of 12 and played the instrument in marching band as a high school student. She earned her bachelor's degree at the University of Texas at Austin. Samuel Shepherd (born 1986), known professionally as Floating Points, is a British electronic music producer, DJ, and musician. He is the founder of Pluto Records, co-founder of Eglo Records and leader of a 16-piece group called Floating Points Ensemble. He took over the 6 Music Artist in Residence radio slot on July 15, 2024. Biography Raised in Manchester, England, Shepherd studied piano at Chetham's School of Music before receiving a Ph.D. in neuroscience and epigenetics at University College London. Vulnicura Tour
The Vulnicura tour was the eighth concert tour by Icelandic musician Björk. The tour centered on her critically acclaimed 2015 album ''Vulnicura'' which chronicled the singer's breakup with American contemporary artist Matthew Barney. The first half of each show featured the first six songs from the album, performed uninterrupted. In the modern music industry, a mixtape is a musical project, typically with looser constraints than that of an album or extended play. Unlike the traditional album or extended play, mixtapes are labeled as laid-back projects that allow artists more creative freedom and less commercial pressure.
