Los Testigos Islands (, Witnesses Islands) are a group of islands in the southeastern Caribbean Sea. They are a part of the ''Dependencias Federales'' ( Federal Dependencies) of Venezuela. Isla Margarita
Margarita Island (, ) is the largest island in the Venezuelan state of Nueva Esparta, situated off the north west coast of the country, in the Caribbean Sea. The capital city of Nueva Esparta, La Asunción, is located on the island. History Age of Exploration Christopher Columbus was the first European to arrive on Margarita Island in 1498.
