Los Muermos is a city and commune in Llanquihue Province, Los Lagos Region in southern Chile. Demographics According to the 2002 census of the National Statistics Institute, Los Muermos spans an area of and has 16,964 inhabitants (8,939 men and 8,025 women). Of these, 5,707 (33.6%) lived in urban areas and 11,257 (66.4%) in rural areas. The population fell by 0.5% (90 persons) between the 1992 and 2002 censuses. Climate The climate in this area has mild differences between highs and lows, and there is adequate rainfall year-round. According to the Köppen Climate Classification system, Los Muermos has a marine west coast climate, abbreviated "Cfb" on climate maps. Fresia () is a city and commune in Llanquihue Province, Los Lagos Region, Chile. Demographics According to the 2002 census of the National Statistics Institute, Fresia spans an area of and has 12,804 inhabitants (6,580 men and 6,224 women). Puerto Octay
Puerto Octay is a List of towns in Chile, town and Communes of Chile, commune in Osorno Province located on the north shore of Llanquihue Lake in Los Lagos Region in the south of Chile. It was settled by German people, German colonists in 1852. Puerto Octay was an important port with regular traffic to Puerto Varas before the railway opened in 1912. Purranque
Purranque is a city in the Chilean Los Lagos Region, which lies on the Pan-American Highway about north of Puerto Montt. It is part of the Osorno Province. History The first ethnically identifiable inhabitants of the area were Huilliches, an indigenous people, and the land belonged to ''Cacique'' (Chief) Raylef, who was known as "''Cacique Don Raylef de Purranquil''"; Purranquil meaning in Mapudungun language “bush land”. Río Negro (, English: ''Black River'') is a Chilean city and commune in Osorno Province, Los Lagos Region. The city is located 38 km south of Osorno and 6 km west of Route 5. Puyehue, Chile
Puyehue () is a commune in Chile located in Osorno Province of Los Lagos Region. It is bordered to the south by Rupanco Lake, to the east by the Andes and Argentina, to the north by Puyehue Lake and to the west by Osorno commune. Cardenal Antonio Samoré Pass that links the Los Lagos Region to Argentina lies in the eastern tip of the commune. The comune is administered by Entre Lagos, the main town in Puyehue.
