Los Espartanos is a Peruvian football club, located in the city of Pacasmayo, La Libertad. The club was founded with the name of club Los Espartanos de Pacasmayo. History The club was 1984 Copa Perú champion, when it defeated Alianza Atlético, Deportivo Educación, Bella Esperanza, Guardia Republicana, and Universitario (Tacna) in the Final Stage. The club has played at the highest level of Peruvian football on two occasions, from 1985 Torneo Descentralizado until 1986 Torneo Descentralizado when it was relegated to the Copa Perú. Copa Perú
The Copa Perú is a association football, football tournament in Peru and the fourth-highest division of the Peruvian football league system. Despite its name, it is not entirely an elimination-cup competition involving all Peruvian clubs, but rather a series of league tournaments leading to an elimination tournament, with regional league clubs as participants. The Peruvian football league system is a complex system. Though the general outline includes the Liga 1, Liga 2, Liga 3 and Copa Perú. The Copa Perú is very large involving several stages and leagues within it. In addition, the Copa Perú is played within a year. 1986 Torneo Descentralizado
The 1986 Torneo Descentralizado, the top category of Peruvian football (soccer), was played by 30 teams. The season started in 1986 but ended in early 1987. The national champion was first-time winner San Agustín. Format The national championship was divided into two tournaments; the Torneo Regional and Torneo Descentralizado. The winners of each tournament faced off in the season final and received the berths for the 1987 Copa Libertadores. The Torneo Regional divided the teams into four groups; Metropolitan, North, Central, and South. Each group had its teams advance to the Liguilla Regional, the Torneo Descentralizado and the División Intermedia. The Liguilla Regional determined the Regional champion. The Descentralizado divided the teams in three groups and the top two in each group advanced to the Descentralizado Liguilla which decided the Descentralizado champion. Guardia Republicana is a Peruvian football club, playing in the city of Lima. The club was founded 1981 and plays in the Copa Perú, which is the third division of the Peruvian league. History The club was 1985, 1987, and 1995 Segunda División Peruana champion. The club has played at the highest level of Peruvian football on three occasions, from 1986 Torneo Descentralizado until 1988 Torneo Descentralizado, when it was relegated. The team returned to the Peruvian First Division in 1996 (Torneo Descentralizado), but was relegated at the end of the same year. To this day it has not returned to professional football.
