Loro (film)
''Loro'' is a 2018 epic film , epic political satire drama film directed by Paolo Sorrentino, starring Toni Servillo. The film talks about a group of businessmen and politicians – the ''Loro'' (''Them'') from the title – who live and act near to media tycoon and politician Silvio Berlusconi. Plot Act 1 Sergio Morra is a young businessman from Taranto who manages small-scale trafficking of young escorts which he uses to bribe local politicians and obtain licenses outside normal procedures. Sergio has a relationship with Tamara, an irresponsible young mother unscrupulous just like him, who helps him in his trafficking. The two decide to go to Rome, since Sergio wants to get close to power and aims to reach Silvio Berlusconi. Paolo Sorrentino
Paolo Sorrentino (; ; born 31 May 1970) is an Italian film director, screenwriter, and writer. He is considered one of the most prominent filmmakers of Italian cinema working today. He is known for visually striking and complex dramas and has often been compared to Federico Fellini and Michelangelo Antonioni. 2006 Italian General Election
The 2006 Italian general election was held on 9 and 10 April 2006. Romano Prodi, leader of the centre-left coalition The Union, narrowly defeated the incumbent Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, leader of the centre-right coalition House of Freedoms. Initial exit polls suggested a victory for Prodi, but the results narrowed as the count progressed. On 11 April 2006, Prodi declared victory; Berlusconi never conceded defeat and an ensuing dispute formed. Ennio Doris (3 July 1940 – 24 November 2021) was an Italian billionaire businessman who founded Mediolanum SpA. Until 21 September 2021, he was chairman of Banca Mediolanum, part of Gruppo Mediolanum, a large Italian banking, funds management, and insurance group.
