Lori Locust
Lori Locust (born 1964) is an American football coach who is a defensive quality control coach for the Tennessee Titans of the National Football League (NFL). Early years Locust was born in 1964 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She grew up in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Susquehanna Township High School in 1982, and attended Temple University for two years before leaving to tend to her ill father. Playing career Locust joined a semi-professional women's football team in 2004 as a defensive lineman. In her fourth season for the Central PA Vipers, she was named team captain and MVP, but retired after the next season due to a knee injury. Coaching career Locust coached the Vipers after retiring from her playing career with the team. A strength and conditioning coach (also known as an S&C coach) is a physical performance professional who uses exercise prescription to improve the performance of competitive athletes or athletic teams. This is achieved through the combination of strength training, aerobic conditioning, and other methods. Unlike an athletic trainer, a strength and conditioning coach is focused primarily on sport performance. The coach help athletes with injury prevention, through strengthening and coaching of movement mechanics within a sport. Katie Sowers (born August 7, 1986) is an American football coach in the National Football League. She was the first openly gay and first female coach in Super Bowl history. Sowers began her American football career playing in the Women's Football Alliance. Kathryn Smith (born ) is an American football coach who most recently served as the special teams quality control coach for the Buffalo Bills. She was the first full-time female coach in NFL history. Bruce Charles Arians (born October 3, 1952) is an American football executive and former coach in the National Football League (NFL). Since 2022, he has been a senior football consultant for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Arians was previously the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals from 2013 to 2017 and the Buccaneers from 2019 to 2021. 2019 AAF Season
The 2019 AAF season was the only season in the history of the Alliance of American Football (AAF), which began on February 9, 2019. A ten-week regular season was scheduled for each of the league's eight teams. On April 2, multiple sources indicated that Thomas Dundon, controlling owner of the AAF, had followed through on threats made in the previous week and suspended the AAF's operations, against the will of its founders. By the end of the week, the AAF front office had confirmed the suspension of operations and allowed players to opt-out of their contracts to sign with other leagues.
