Loretteville () is a List of former municipalities in Quebec, former city in central Quebec, Canada. It was amalgamated into Quebec City on January 1, 2002. It is located within the borough of La Haute-Saint-Charles, and also contains the upmarket neighbourhood of Montchâtel. Demographics Its population in 2001 was 13,737 residents. Mitsou Annie Marie Gélinas (born September 1, 1970, in Loretteville, Quebec) is a Canadian pop singer, businesswoman, television and radio host, and actress. She is credited as Mitsou Gélinas when acting, but records simply as Mitsou (the French spelling of ''Mitsu'', which means honey in Japanese). Biography Born in Loretteville, Quebec, Mitsou is the granddaughter of Quebec actor and playwright Gratien Gélinas. She got involved in acting and modelling as a child notably in the French-Canadian soap opera ''Terre humaine'', but also began to pursue singing in her teenage years. In 1988, she signed with Canadian independent Isba Records and released her first single, " Bye Bye Mon Cowboy" (composed and produced by Jean-Pierre Isaac), which became a pop hit across Canada, an extremely rare feat for a francophone song, in 1989. Geneviève Castrée
Geneviève Elverum ( Gosselin; April 9, 1981 – July 9, 2016), also known as Geneviève Castrée, was a Canadian cartoonist, illustrator, and musician from Quebec. An early admirer of comics, she began creating them at a young age. L'Oie de Cravan published her first book, ''Lait Frappé'', in 2000. By 2004 she had released three more books—''Die Fabrik, Roulatheque Roulatheque Nicolore'' and ''Pamplemoussi''. The latter is considered her artistic breakthrough. Her 2012 book ''Susceptible'' gave her international success and was followed by a book of poems in French titled ''Maman Sauvage'' in 2015. Her next two works ''A Bubble'' and ''Maman Apprivoisée'' were both released posthumously. She also recorded a total of eight albums under the name Woelv and Ô Paon (stylized in all caps). Myriam Bédard
Myriam Bédard, (born December 22, 1969) is a Canadian retired biathlete. She represented Canada at two Winter Olympics winning gold medals, and a bronze medal. As of 2022, Bédard is the only Canadian biathlete, male or female, ever to win an Olympic medal, and the only North American biathlete ever to win Olympic gold. Olympic career Myriam Bédard was born in 1969. Gérard Deltell
Gérard Deltell (born August 8, 1964) is a Canadian politician who has served as the member of Parliament (MP) for Louis-Saint-Laurent since 2015. A member of the Conservative Party, Deltell was Opposition House Leader from 2020 to 2022 under Erin O'Toole and held a number of opposition critic positions. Prior to entering federal politics, he represented Chauveau in the National Assembly of Quebec from 2008 to 2015 and was the leader of the Action démocratique du Québec (ADQ) from 2009 until it merged with the Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ) in 2012.
