Lorena Ponce de León Núñez (born 6 October 1976). She was the wife of Luis Lacalle Pou, who served as the 42nd president of Uruguay. Early life and education She was born on 6 October 1976 in Montevideo, as the daughter of a Batllist mother and a father with little connection to politics. She was raised in La Blanqueada, Montevideo, where she lived until being 9 years old, and then she moved with her parents to Carrasco. She attended the German School and the Scuola Italiana. She graduated from Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the Universidad de la Empresa with a Forest Technician degree. She also studied at the Professor Julio Muñoz School of Gardening. Luis Alberto Lacalle
Luis Alberto Lacalle de Herrera (; ''Lacalle'' locally or ; born 13 July 1941) is a Uruguayan politician and lawyer who served as the 36th president of Uruguay from 1990 to 1995. A member of the National Party, he previously served as National Representative from 1972 to 1973, and as Senator of the Republic from 1985 to 1990. Lacalle was born and raised in Montevideo. He is the grandson of Luis Alberto de Herrera who led the National Party and founded one of its most prominent sectors. He attended the Jesuit Colegio Seminario and graduated from the University of the Republic in 1964 with a law degree. In his youth he worked as a journalist in some media outlets. The Montevideo Metropolitan Cathedral () is the main Roman Catholic church of Montevideo, and seat of its archdiocese. It is located right in front of the Cabildo across Constitution Square, in the neighbourhood of Ciudad Vieja. History The origin of the church dates from Spanish colonial times (1740), when a church constructed of brick was built on the site. In 1790, the foundation was laid for the construction of the current neoclassical structure. Daniel Fernando Sturla Berhouet, SDB (born 4 July 1959 in Montevideo) is a Uruguayan Roman Catholic prelate and the archbishop of Montevideo. Biography Sturla was born at the Italian Hospital of Montevideo on July 4, 1959, the youngest of five siblings. Raised in a middle-class family, he is of Italian and Basque-French descent.
