Loren Solberg
Loren A. Solberg (born November 3, 1941) is a Minnesota politician and a former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives who represented District 3B, which includes portions of Aitkin and Itasca counties in the northern part of the state. A Democrat, he is also a retired educator. Solberg was first elected in 1982, and was re-elected every two years until the 2010 general election, when he was unseated by Republican Carolyn McElfatrick. He left office on January 3, 2011. Solberg was chair the House Ways and Means Committee, and was a member of the Finance, the Rules and Legislative Administration, and the Taxes committees. He also served on the Finance Subcommittee for the Commerce and Labor Subcommittee for the Labor and Consumer Protection Division, and on the Finance Subcommittee for the Capital Investment Finance Division. Carolyn McElfatrick
Carolyn J. McElfatrick (born October 1944) is a Minnesota politician and former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives who represented District 3B, which included portions of Aitkin and Itasca counties in the northern part of the state. A Republican, she is also a retired registered nurse. McElfatrick was first elected to the House in 2010. She served on the Agriculture and Rural Development Policy and Finance, the Health and Human Services Finance, the Health and Human Services Reform, and the State Government Finance committees. McElfatrick graduated from Methodist-Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester, Minnesota, and also attended graduate school for nurse anesthesia at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. She accompanied her husband, a medical doctor when he served in the Army Medical Corps, first at Fort Dix, New Jersey, then in Pusan, South Korea. Bemidji ( ) is a city and the county seat of Beltrami County, Minnesota, Beltrami County, in northern Minnesota, United States. Bovey, Minnesota
Bovey is a city in Itasca County, Minnesota, United States. It is part of Minnesota's Iron Range. The population was 804 at the 2010 census. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of , of which is land and is water. In recent years the city, along with its neighbors Coleraine and Taconite, has been under a serious threat of flooding from the nearby Canisteo Mine Pit. The pit, which comprises a series of 19 mines that ceased to be worked in 1985, has now become a lake some 4.8 miles long and up to 300 ft deep. In June 2011 the water level was recorded as having reached 1316.1 feet above sea level, higher than low-lying areas of the town. A project to drain some of the lake to prevent it overflowing and swamping the town was due to commence in mid-2011. The most recent pit water level is 1316.60 MSL.
