Lonuziyaaraiy Park
Lonuziyaaraiy Park () is a garden located at Henveiru ward on the southeast coast of Malé, the capital of Maldives. History In March 2019, the Male' City Council revealed its plans to create a garden park in Lonuziyaaraiy Kolhu, the area neighboring the Sinamalé Bridge. Before the construction of the bridge, Lonuziyaaraiy Kolhu was designated by the government for helicopter landings. Also, it served as a favored location for outdoor activities and family gatherings for the local population. The council has also been investigated by the Anti-Corruption Commission on allegations of corruption regarding the development of public toilets in the park. Umar Zahir (politician)
Umar Zahir, (; 26 October 1936 – 20 December 2021) was a Maldives, Maldivian politician. He was the first sports minister of the Maldives, serving from 1988 to 1993. As public works minister from 1993 to 2004, he oversaw the first construction phase of Hulhumalé, as well as the construction of Thilafushi and the Malé seawall. Biography Zahir was born on 26 October 1936. He was married to Moomina Ibrahim, and they had one daughter. Moomina died in 2018 at the age of 84. Ibrahim Mohamed Solih (; born 4 May 1964), popularly known as Ibu, is a Maldivian politician who served as the 7th President of the Maldives from 2018 to 2023. Malé is the capital and most populous city of the Maldives. With a population of 211,908 in 2022 within its administrative area and coterminous geographical area of , Malé is one of the most densely populated cities in the world. Sinamalé Bridge
The Sinamalé Bridge () links the islands of Malé, Hulhulé and Hulhumalé in the Maldives. The 1.39 km long bridge has two car lanes and separate lanes for motorcycles, and pedestrians, and opened on 30 August 2018.
