"Longview" is a song by American Rock music, rock band Green Day, released as their debut single. It is the fourth track on the band's third studio album, ''Dookie'' (1994). "Longview" was serviced to US radio on February 1, 1994, and was physically released on June 6, 1994, by Reprise Records, Reprise and Warner Music Group, WEA International. The song was the band's first single to top the Billboard (magazine), ''Billboard'' Alternative Airplay, Modern Rock Tracks chart in the US. The music video for the song received heavy airplay on MTV and is largely credited for breaking Green Day into mainstream popularity. It was directed by Bay Area music video director Mark Kohr, who later collaborated with the band on future music videos. The Wonder Stuff are a British alternative rock band. ''The Daily News'' is a newspaper covering Longview, Kelso, Washington, and Cowlitz County, Washington in the United States. Apart from a brief period in the 1990s when, prior to ceasing publication, the ''Cowlitz County Advocate'' was published in Longview, the ''Daily News'' has been Longview's only newspaper since its inception. History Ralph Tennal published the first issue of ''The Longview News'' on Jan. 27, 1923. The paper was financed by Robert A. Michael Ryan Pritchard (born May 4, 1972), better known by his stage name Mike Dirnt, is an American rock musician who is the co-founder, bassist, backing vocalist, and occasional lead vocalist of Green Day.
