Longshan County
Longshan County () is a Counties of the People's Republic of China, county of Hunan, Hunan Province, China, it is under the administration of Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture. Located in northwestern Xiangxi, it is immediately adjacent to the borders of Chongqing, Chongqing Municipality and Hubei, Hubei Province. The county is bordered to the northeast by Sangzhi County, to the east by Yongshun County, to the southeast and the south by Baojing County, and to the west by Youyang Tujia and Miao Autonomous County, Youyang County of Chongqing, Laifeng County and Xuan'en County of Hubei. Townships ( zh, s=乡, labels=no), formally township-level divisions ( zh, s=乡级行政区, labels=no), are the basic level (fourth-level administrative units) of political divisions in the People's Republic of China. They are similar to municipalities and communes in other countries and in turn may contain village committees and villages. 2014 Hunan Military Training Incident
On August 24, 2014, an incident between students and teachers took place during a military training event at Huangcang Secondary School () in Longshan County, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hunan, China. In China mandatory military training is done in several educational institutes with first year students at the start of each school year. In the morning an incident involving 10th grade students seemed to be resolved amicably, but in the afternoon the instructors began showing aggression towards the students who were involved, prompting criticism from Mr. Liu, the students' teacher, towards the military training instructors. A fight broke out and 40 students, a teacher, and a military training instructor received injuries. 22 people were still hospitalized as of Tuesday, August 26.
