Horse Racing
Horse racing is an equestrian performance activity, typically involving two or more horses ridden by jockeys (or sometimes driven without riders) over a set distance for competition. It is one of the most ancient of all sports, as its basic premise – to identify which of two or more horses is the fastest over a set course or distance – has been mostly unchanged since at least classical antiquity. Horse races vary widely in format, and many countries have developed their own particular traditions around the sport. Variations include restricting races to particular breeds, running over obstacles, running over different distances, running on different track surfaces, and running in different gaits. In some races, horses are assigned different weights to carry to reflect differences in ability, a process known as handicapping. While horses are sometimes raced purely for sport, a major part of horse racing's interest and economic importance is in the gambling associated ...

Long Shot (The Professionals)
This is a list of all '' The Professionals'' episodes, which comprises the following cast members: Gordon Jackson (George Cowley), Martin Shaw (Ray Doyle) and Lewis Collins (William Bodie). Since the deaths of Gordon Jackson and Lewis Collins in 1990 and 2013 respectively, Martin Shaw is the only surviving regular cast member of the show. Series overview The Professionals was produced by Brian Clemens's Avengers Mark 1 Productions for London Weekend Television (LWT) in five production blocks. These episodes were originally broadcast on the ITV network in a series of five scheduling runs. The transmission order of the episodes in these series was often different from the production order, but given that each episode was typically a self-contained story with no references to other episodes, this had little significance for viewers. Whilst earlier DVD releases tended to group the episodes in original ITV transmission order, Network's DVD & Blu-ray editions used production order. ...

Zero − Starting Life In Another World (season 2)
0 (zero) is a number representing an empty quantity. Adding (or subtracting) 0 to any number leaves that number unchanged; in mathematical terminology, 0 is the additive identity of the integers, rational numbers, real numbers, and complex numbers, as well as other algebraic structures. Multiplying any number by 0 results in 0, and consequently division by zero has no meaning in arithmetic. As a numerical digit, 0 plays a crucial role in decimal notation: it indicates that the power of ten corresponding to the place containing a 0 does not contribute to the total. For example, "205" in decimal means two hundreds, no tens, and five ones. The same principle applies in place-value notations that uses a base other than ten, such as binary and hexadecimal. The modern use of 0 in this manner derives from Indian mathematics that was transmitted to Europe via medieval Islamic mathematicians and popularized by Fibonacci. It was independently used by the Maya. Common names for the ...

Revival (John Fogerty Album)
''Revival'' is the seventh solo studio album by American roots rock singer-songwriter/guitarist John Fogerty. Released in 2007, it was his first new album in three years, and also his third album since rejoining Fantasy Records. The album was released on October 2, 2007. The cover design echoes the silhouette design of Fogerty's first solo album '' The Blue Ridge Rangers''. The first single from the album was "Don't You Wish It Was True". The album contains two war protest songs: "Long Dark Night" and "I Can't Take It No More", both of which speak out against the Bush administration and the Iraq War. The latter song contains a lyric that refers to one of his hits with CCR, by referring to Bush as a " Fortunate Son". Also, this song sounds like Ramones-style punk rock. Fogerty has done some experimentation with that sound ("She's Got Baggage" from '' Deja Vu (All Over Again)''). Another song, "Summer of Love", is a tribute to Cream and Jimi Hendrix, and has a musical citation ...

Long Shot (Kelly Clarkson Song)
"Long Shot" is a song by American singer Kelly Clarkson from her fourth studio album, All I Ever Wanted (2009). It was written by Katy Perry, Glen Ballard, and Matt Thiessen for inclusion on Perry's debut studio album, ''One of the Boys'' (2008). The song was ultimately left off the album; however, Clarkson later recorded it alongside the outtake " I Do Not Hook Up". Clarkson's rendition of the song was produced by Howard Benson. A pop song, it lyrically discusses a couple's willingness to enter a relationship despite its unlikelihood of success. Music critics praised "Long Shot" as an album highlight and noted the contrast between Perry's original recording and Clarkson's rendition. While it was not released as a single, it received heavy radio airplay in Canada. It reached a peak position of number 33 on the ''Billboard'' Canada Hot AC chart. The song was included on the set list of Clarkson's 2009 concert tour, the All I Ever Wanted Tour. Background and recording The song wa ...
