Lonely People With Power
''Lonely People with Power'' is the sixth studio album by American metal band Deafheaven, released on March 28, 2025, through Roadrunner Records. It was the band's first album since joining the label in 2024. Following a departure into shoegaze on the band's previous album, '' Infinite Granite'' (2021), ''Lonely People with Power'' saw Deafheaven return to a sound rooted in black metal. Recording Like its predecessor '' Infinite Granite,'' the album was produced by Justin Meldal-Johnsen. It was recorded at EastWest Studios in Hollywood, California. It features additional vocal contributions from Boy Harsher's Jae Matthews and Interpol's Paul Banks. Release On January 27, 2025, Deafheaven announced ''Lonely People with Power'', simultaneously releasing its lead single, "Magnolia". Deafheaven
Deafheaven is an American black metal band formed in 2010. Originally based in San Francisco, the group began as a two-piece with singer George Clarke and guitarist Kerry McCoy (musician), Kerry McCoy, who recorded and self-released Demo (Deafheaven album), a demo album together. Following its release, Deafheaven recruited three new members and began to tour. Before the end of 2010, the band signed to Deathwish Inc. and later released their debut album ''Roads to Judah,'' in April 2011. They popularized a unique style blending black metal, shoegaze, and post-rock, among other influences, later called "blackgaze" by reviewers. Outbreak Festival is an English hardcore punk festival and concert promotion company founded by Jordan Coupland and Lee Follows in 2011. Jae Matthews
Boy Harsher is an American electronic music group formed in 2013 in Savannah, Georgia. Currently based in Northampton, Massachusetts, the band consists of vocalist Jae Matthews and producer Augustus Muller. The band has amassed a cult following since their formation, and their song "Pain" has become an underground hit. Matthews and Muller own and run the label Nude Club, which is exclusively devoted to Boy Harsher and related artists. History Knowing each other from film school in Savannah, Muller and Matthews started the project Teen Dreamz in 2013, which acted as a precursor to Boy Harsher. The project consisted of Matthews performing her spoken word pieces and Muller providing a musical backing. ''New Bermuda'' is the third studio album by American blackgaze band Deafheaven. It was released on October 2, 2015 through the Anti- record label. Background The album was recorded live in April 2015 with '' Sunbather'' producer and engineer Jack Shirley at 25th Street Recording in Oakland, California and Atomic Garden Recording in Palo Alto, California. The cover art of the album features an oil painting by Allison Schulnik. The album trailer was released on July 27, 2015. Weighted Arithmetic Mean
The weighted arithmetic mean is similar to an ordinary arithmetic mean (the most common type of average), except that instead of each of the data points contributing equally to the final average, some data points contribute more than others.
