London Buses Route 120
London Buses route 120 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Northolt and Hounslow bus station, it is operated by Metroline. In 1994, it became the first bus route in the United Kingdom to solely use low floor, accessible buses. History Route 120 commenced operating on 27 January 1926. The route initially ran from the ''Victory'', The Green, Southall to the ''Hussar'', Staines Road, Hounslow Heath, via King Street, Norwood Road, Heston Road, Lampton Road, Staines Road, Tivoli Road and Gloucester Road to a stand in Barrack Road, returning directly to Staines Road. On Saturday afternoons and evenings and all day on Sundays it was extended from Hounslow Heath to the ''Red Lion'', Feltham via Staines Road, Hounslow Road, and High Street, Feltham. Feltham () is a town in West London, England, from Charing Cross. Historically part of Middlesex, it became part of the London Borough of Hounslow in 1965. Go-Ahead London is the trading name used collectively for the London bus operations of the Go-Ahead Group. The name first appeared in August 2008, before which the company had traded under separate names and brands. It is currently (as of 2021) the largest bus operator in Greater London, operating a total of 115 bus routes with a fleet size of 2,210 vehicles under contract to Transport for London. The Alexander Dennis Enviro400 is a twin-axle low-floor double-decker bus that was built by the British bus manufacturer Alexander Dennis between 2005 and 2018. It replaced the Alexander ALX400, Dennis Trident (from which the Enviro400 was developed) and Plaxton President. In 2014, the Enviro400 was succeeded by the updated Alexander Dennis Enviro400 MMC and production of the classic Enviro400 ceased in 2018. Xplore Dundee is a bus operator based in Dundee, Scotland, operating services mainly within Dundee City. The operator also runs a service to Edinburgh Airport. It is a subsidiary of McGill’s Buses, which is based in Greenock, Scotland. Its low floor variant, the Dennis Lance SLF (Super Low Floor) was built between 1993 and 1996. Northolt Tube Station
Northolt is a station on the London Underground Central line in Northolt in the London Borough of Ealing. It is in Travelcard Zone 5 and between Greenford and South Ruislip stations. History The Great Western Railway constructed a halt just to the east of this location named Northolt Halt in 1907, on their "New North Main Line" (now the Acton–Northolt line) to Birmingham. It was renamed Northolt (for West End) Halt, before gaining station status under its original shorter name. It was closed in 1948 when the Central line was extended on a new pair of tracks from North Acton, the current Northolt tube station opening on the opposite side of the road bridge on 21 November 1948. J. Lyons and Co., Greenford was a major food production factory located in Greenford, west London. Developed post World War I by J. Lyons and Co., it covered at its height, and produced tea, coffee, grocery products and Lyons Maid ice cream. Ready Brek instant porridge breakfast cereal was developed at the site. After the merger of Lyons with Allied Bakeries in the 1980s, and the focus of the new Allied Domecq business to focus on spirits, with the sell off of the businesses associated with the factory, the need for the facility dwindled.
