London 1
Regional 1 South East (formerly known as London & South East Premier and National League 3 London & South East) is a level five league in the English rugby union system. It is one of six leagues at this level. When this division began in 1987 it was known as London Division 1. The format of the league was changed at the beginning of the 2009–10 season following re-organisation by the Rugby Football Union while the name change from National League 3 to Premier was introduced for the 2017–18 season to make it more obvious that it is a regional league. London & South East Premier was the highest regional rugby union league covering London and south east England. Following the RFU Adult Competition Review the league was decreased from 14 to 12 and the name changed to Regional 1 South East. Bedford Athletic
Bedford Athletic Rugby Club is a rugby union team based in Bedford, in the county of Bedfordshire. The club currently play in the fifth tier of the English rugby union system, participating in Regional 1 South East after being promoted from Midlands 1 East and via a level-transfer from Midlands Premier at the end of the 2017–18 season. The club runs two senior sides, a veterans team and a colts team. There is currently no junior section at Bedford Athletic. History The club was founded on 16 April 1908 and has used many grounds in the town. The first was in Kimbolton Road opposite the Park Hotel. The second in Bedford Park by the lake, the third behind the Fox & Hounds PH in Goldington Road, 'where a pond encroached on the pitch in which stood the corner flag'. Letchworth Garden City, commonly known as Letchworth, is a town in the North Hertfordshire district of Hertfordshire, England. It is noted for being the first garden city. The population at the time of the 2021 census was 33,990. Letchworth was an ancient parish, appearing in the Domesday Book of 1086. The Letchworth Garden City Rugby Union Football Club is a rugby union club based in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire, England. The club runs up to three senior teams each week. Along with a mixed ability side the Braveherts and has thriving mini, junior, girls and ladies sections the Lionesses. The first team currently play in Regional 1 South East following their promotion from Regional 2 Anglia at the end of season 2022–23. Ware, Hertfordshire
Ware is a town and civil parish in the East Hertfordshire district, in the county of Hertfordshire, England. It is close to the county town of Hertford. In the 2021 United Kingdom census, 2021 Census, the parish had a population of 19,622. History Archaeology has shown that Ware has been occupied since at least the Mesolithic period (which ended in about 4000 BC). The Roman Empire, Romans had a sizeable settlement here and foundations of several buildings, including a temple, and two cemeteries have been found. 2024-25 National League 2 East
A coxless four, abbreviated as a 4- and also called a straight four, is a racing shell used in the sport of competitive rowing. It is designed for four persons who propel the boat with sweep oars, without a coxswain. The crew consists of four rowers, each having one oar. There are two rowers on the stroke side (rower's right hand side) and two on the bow side (rower's lefthand side). As there is no coxswain, the rudder is controlled by one of the crew, normally with the rudder cable attached to the toe of one of their shoes which can pivot about the ball of the foot, moving the cable left or right. Colchester Rugby Football Club is an English rugby union club based in Colchester, Essex. The first XV team play in Regional 1 South East at level 5 in the English rugby union system, following their relegation from the 2024–25 National League 2 East. Ground Colchester moved to their current Raven Park in 2021, having previously been based at Mill Hill which was sold off for housing.
