''Londinium'' is the debut album by London-based trip hop band Archive (band), Archive. The title is taken from the Roman London, Roman name for London. Roya Arab is the main vocalist throughout the album, and Rosko John provides rapping. "Skyscraper" uses a sample from "Mmm Skyscraper... I Love You" by Underworld (band), Underworld. In addition, Karl Hyde, from Underworld, plays bass on the track "Headspace". "Londinium" was remixed by Kevin Shields and released as a 12″. Karl Hyde
Karl Hyde (born 10 May 1957) is an English musician, composer and artist. He is a founding member of British electronic group Underworld. Hyde has also released a solo album, made albums with Brian Eno and Matthew Herbert, and contributed towards the score for the London 2012 Summer Olympics opening ceremony alongside his Underworld bandmate Rick Smith. He is a founding member of the multi-discipline design and film collective Tomato and has published several books. Career Hyde grew up in Bewdley, England. He moved to Cardiff in the late 1970s to study at Cardiff College of Art. There he formed the new wave- synthpop band Freur in 1982 with Rick Smith and Alfie Thomas. Roya Arab (born 1967) is a British musician and archaeologist. Born in Tehran, she is an exile of the Iranian Revolution. Early life and education Roya Arab was born in Tehran, Iran. She attended Maktabe Tarbiat school in Tehran, while also studying at summer schools in Montana, Switzerland, and St Georges in Ascot. After the 1979 revolution she boarded at Ancaster House School in Bexhill-on-Sea, before taking her A-levels at North Westminster Community School. She then completed one year of a copywriting/advertising course. She joined the Institute of Archaeology (UCL) in 2000 to complete an Archaeology BA and Public Archaeology MA and remained as an Honorary Research Associate from 2008 until 2015.
