Lokomotiv Stadium (Nizhny Novgorod)
The Lokomotiv Central Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. It is currently used mostly for football (soccer), football matches and was the home ground of FC Olimpiyets Nizhny Novgorod, Olimpiyets Nizhny Novgorod. The stadium holds 17,856 people and was opened in 1932. It underwent its most recent reconstruction in 1997. It should not be confused with the Lokomotiv Central Stadium in Moscow, the home of Lokomotiv Moscow. Presently, it is the home arena of FC Olimpiyets Nizhny Novgorod, Olimpiyets Nizhny Novgorod. FC Volga Nizhny Novgorod () was a Russian football club from Nizhny Novgorod, founded in 1998. In 2008, FC Volga won the Ural-Povolzhye (Volga Region in Russian) zone of the Russian Second Division and advanced to the Russian First Division. In 2010 they promoted to the Russian Premier League.
