The Lock Haven Maroons were a short–lived minor league baseball team based in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of nine players each, taking turns batting and fielding. Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania (LHU) is a public university in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. It is part of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. The main campus consists of and the branch campus covers . It offers 69 undergraduate programs and 4 graduate programs. History LHU was founded in 1870 as the Central State Normal School. By 1927 it was known as the State Teachers College in Lock Haven and in 1960 the name was changed to Lock Haven State College. In 1983, the school joined the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education and became known as Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania. The Clearfield campus in Clearfield, Pennsylvania was established in 1989. LHU's previous president Craig Dean Willis retired from Lock Haven in 2004. Connie McGeehan
Cornelius Bernard McGeehan (August 25, 1882 – July 4, 1907) was an American right-handed pitcher and left fielder who played in Major League Baseball during the season. Born in Drifton, Pennsylvania, McGeehan attended College of the Holy Cross. His younger brother, Dan McGeehan, was a member of the 1911 St. Louis Cardinals. McGeehan started his baseball career in 1898 with the Lock Haven Normals/Maroons of the Central Pennsylvania League, playing for them one year before joining the Philadelphia Athletics of Connie Mack in 1903. He posted a 1–0 record with a 4.50 earned run average in three relief appearances with the Athletics, giving up five runs on nine hits and one walk while striking out four in 10.0 innings of work. William Clarence Rotes (June 27, 1871 – March 7, 1934) was an American professional baseball pitcher. Rotes played for the Louisville Colonels during the 1893 season.
