Lochlea Distillery
Lochlea distillery is a Scotch whisky distillery in Ayrshire, Scotland. It produces a Lowland single malt. History Lochlea distillery was founded in 2018 by Neil McGeoch, in the on the farm where the Scottish poet Robert Burns once lived and worked. The £6 million investment was planned back in 2014. In October 2021, Lochlea launched its inaugural single malt. In May 2023, the distillery launched an cask strength whisky. In October 2023, Lochlea distillery won International Trade Business of the Year award from the Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce. Lowland Single Malts
Lowland single malts are single malt whiskies distilled in Scotland's Scottish Lowlands, lowlands. The region is home to distilleries such as: Annandale distillery, Annandale in Annan, Dumfries and Galloway, Annan; Auchentoshan distillery, Auchentoshan near Clydebank; Bladnoch distillery, Bladnoch in Galloway; Daftmill distillery, Daftmill in Fife; Girvan distillery, The Girvan Distilleries near Girvan; and Glenkinchie distillery near Edinburgh. Robert Burns
Robert Burns (25 January 1759 – 21 July 1796), also known familiarly as Rabbie Burns, was a Scottish poet and lyricist. Distillation, also classical distillation, is the process of separating the component substances of a liquid mixture of two or more chemically discrete substances; the separation process is realized by way of the selective boiling of the mixture and the condensation of the vapors in a still.
