Lobotomia
Lobotomia is a Brazilian crossover thrash band from São Paulo. History Lobotomia was founded in 1984, characterized by hardcore and crossover thrash songs. Its original formation was Caio on vocals, Adherbal Billy Argel on guitars, Grego on drums, and Alfredo on bass. The punk movement was on the rise and places like Napalm, Carbono 14, Lira Paulistana, Madame Satã, Ácido Plástico and others were welcoming bands of this kind. At the end of 1985, Lobotomia was part of the Ataque Sonoro compilation by the independent label Ataque Frontal and the change to the band's musical style was already visible on this album, in search for a new sonority and the starting fusion with other heavy sound styles. Ratos De Porão
Ratos de Porão (Portuguese for "Basement Rats") is a Brazilian crossover thrash band from São Paulo. They were formed in 1981, toured South America, North America, Asia and Europe, and still continue to play today. Their core lineup of João Gordo on vocals and Jão on drums and later guitars has remained since virtually the band's beginning. History Early days Ratos de Porão, or simply "RxDxPx", was formed in November 1981, existing in the Brazilian (São Paulo city) punk rock scene (alongside bands such as Olho Seco, Cólera, Inocentes, Garotos Podres, and Lobotomia). Garotos Podres
Garotos Podres (Portuguese for Rotten Boys) is a Brazilian punk rock band formed in 1982 in the city of Mauá in the metropolitan region of São Paulo called ''A.B.C.''. In 1985, while Brazil was still under military dictatorship, they appeared on the ''Ataque Sonoro'' compilation along with Ratos de Porão, Cólera, Lobotomia and others of the Brazilian hardcore. They released the first album of the band, ''Mais Podres do que Nunca'' ("More Rotten Than Ever"), on the now defunct Rocker label and then the band really started, selling about 50,000 copies and becoming popular until today. Agnostic Front is an American hardcore punk band from New York City. Founded in 1980, the band is considered an important influence on the New York hardcore scene, as well as a pioneer of the crossover thrash genre. History First era (1980–1992) Formed in 1980 with Vincent "Vinnie Stigma" Capuccio (formerly of the Eliminators) on lead guitar, with Diego on bass, Rob Krekus (aka Robby Crypt Crash) on drums and John Watson on vocals. Despite being billed at their first concert as the Zoo Crew, Stigma introduced them as Agnostic Front, saying that the poster had been made prior to deciding on the name. Crossover Thrash
Crossover thrash (often abbreviated to crossover) is a fusion genre of thrash metal and hardcore punk. The genre emerged in the mid-1980s, when hardcore punk bands, such as Suicidal Tendencies, Cryptic Slaughter, Corrosion of Conformity and Dirty Rotten Imbeciles, began to incorporate the influence of thrash metal. At this time, the genre was particularly prominent in the New York hardcore scene, where groups including Agnostic Front, Leeway (band), Leeway, Cro-Mags and Stormtroopers of Death were widely influential. The genre largely declined in popularity by the 1990s; however, its influence developed the prominent metalcore genre.
