Waleedha Waleed
Waleedha Waleed is a Maldivian film actress, choreographer, director, seamstress and politician. Career In 1989, at the age of fourteen, Waleedha Waleed made her screen debut with a video single directed by Musthafa Hussain. She went on to feature in several other video songs and films. Waleed had most recognition for her songs included in the ''Vasmeeru'' album, which was produced by ''Television Maldives''. In an interview with ''Avas'', Waleed mentioned; "What made me go a long way in my career is the belief that people cheer me as a good dancer though I am not trained in any dance style". She then featured in some of the films including Ibrahim Rasheed's ''Loabeege Thoofan'' (1991) opposite Reeko Moosa Manik. Hassan Afeef
Hassan Afeef is a Maldivian film actor. He is celebrated as the actor being featured in the first Maldivian film and song. He is also noted to be the actor to have worked with most directors away from home and acted in most films that were shot abroad. Career In late 1979, Hassan Afeef, a cinema-goer used to watch several Bollywood films screened at limited cinemas in Maldives and imitate their acting afterwards among friends and family. A group of Maldivians including Afeef came up with the idea of making a regional film for the Maldivian audience though several obstacles emerged including incapability to secure finance and equipment. Aishath Inaya
Aishath Inaya (15 May 1968) is a Maldivian singer. Early life and career Aishath Inaya is the mother of local performer and musician, Andhala Haleem. Inaya started her career in the music industry in 1987, by performing the song "Keerithi Lha Kujja" for the local band Zero Degree. Afterwards, she lent her voice for songs included in the album series of ''4 Hand'', followed by several stage shows. In 1995, the Government of Maldives honoured her with the National Award of Recognition. Inaya is mainly known for her soft, melodious and subtle songs. Feridhoo (Alif Alif Atoll)
Feridhoo ( Dhivehi: ފެރިދޫ) is one of the inhabited islands of Ari Atoll, located on its eastern fringe. It belongs to the Alif Alif Atoll administrative division. History In centuries past, two male African slaves who had been bought by the kings on their Hajj trips to Mecca were formally released from slavery and were settled in this island. Moosa Manik commonly known as Chilhiya Moosa Manik (30 January 1940 – 24 August 2021) was a Maldivian film actor and writer. Early life In 1977, while studying at Majeediyya School, Manik participated in the theatre play performed to celebrate the Golden jubilee of Majeediyya School. He then joined several other theatre performances as a hobby though his first priority lies in sketching and drawing, followed by writing. His most notable performance as a theatre artist includes his role as Viyazor; the administrative chief of the Kingdom of Portugal, Portuguese kingdom who invaded and ruled over Maldives. Ibrahim Jihaad Shavee commonly known as Ibrahim Jihad (born 30 November 1980) is a Maldivian actor. Hassan Ali Manik professionally known as Koyya Hassan Manik (25 April 1953 – 20 February 2021) was a Maldivian film actor and producer. Fathimath Nahula (born 22 June 1973) is a Maldivians, Maldivian film director, film producer and screenwriter. Early life In 1991, Nahula joined Jamaluddin school and worked as a teacher for four years. During the time, she spends most of her time in writing and developing stories.
