Lo Chi-keung
Lo Chi-keung, BBS () is a Hong Kong doctor and politician. Lo is a doctor by profession. He is one of the founding members of the pro-Beijing flagship party Democratic Alliance for the Betterment of Hong Kong (DAB). He had held party offices such as the Policy Research Committee and chairman of the New Territories East branch. He was also appointed member of the Yau Tsim Mong District Council from 2000 to 2004. Between 2000 and 2005, he was the vice-chairman of the party. He had been appointed member of the Administrative Appeals Board, War Memorial Pensions Appeal Board, Obscene and Indecent Articles Panel of Adjudicators, Independent Police Complaints Council. He was councillor of the Hong Kong Baptist University. He was member of the Selection Committee from 1996 to 1998. The Bronze Bauhinia Star (, BBS) is the lowest rank in Order of the Bauhinia Star in Hong Kong, created in 1997 to replace the British honours system of the Order of the British Empire after the transfer of sovereignty to People's Republic of China and the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). It is awarded to persons who have given outstanding service over a long period of time, but in a more limited field or way than that required for the Silver Bauhinia Star. Ip Kwok-him, GBM, GBS, JP (; born 8 November 1951) is a former unofficial member of the Executive Council of Hong Kong, served between 2016 and 2022. He is also former member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong for the District Council (First) functional constituency and Hong Kong delegate to the National People's Congress and the former convenor of the caucus of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong (DAB) in the Legislative Council. Maria Tam
Maria Tam Wai-chu (; born 2 November 1945) is a senior Hong Kong politician and lawyer. She is a member of the Committee for the Basic Law of the National People's Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC) since 1997 and the chairman of the Operations Review Committee of the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) since 2015. As a successful politician early on, Tam was a member of the four different levels of representative councils, Executive Council, Legislative Council, Urban Council and Central and Western District Board in colonial Hong Kong in the 1980s. Selection Committee (Hong Kong)
The Selection Committee was an electoral college created by the Preparatory Committee in 1996 for electing the first chief executive and Provisional Legislative Council after the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The Selection Committee was responsible for recommending and electing the candidate for the first chief executive through local consultations. The ambit of the Selection Committee as later expanded by the Preparatory Committee to include responsibility for the selection of the 60 members of the Provisional Legislative Council.
