Lloyd Nosler
Lloyd Leonard Nosler (March 13, 1901 – September 26, 1985) was an American film editor, director, and screenwriter who worked in Hollywood in from the 1910s through the 1950s. Biography Lloyd was born in Riverton, Oregon, to Charles Nosler and Ida Belle Wright. He left school at the age of 14, and worked for a time as a paperboy for ''The Spokesman Review''. He later took on a job as an office boy at Universal Studios after his family relocated to Los Angeles. In 1918, he was given a promotion to the photography department, where he cut his teeth editing ''Kaiser, Beast of Berlin''. The next year, after editing ''Cassiday of the Air Lanes'', he became specifically renowned for cutting action films after catching the eye of Tom Mix. Work on films like ''Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ (1925 film), Ben Hur'' followed at MGM; the studio kept him under contract for seven years. Riverton, Oregon
Riverton is an unincorporated community in Coos County, Oregon, United States, on Oregon Route 42S, about up the Coquille River from Bandon. Route 42S is the former alignment of U.S. Route 101. The townsite of Riverton was platted in 1889. Riverton post office was established in 1890 and named for its situation on the river. Orlando A. Kelly, the first postmaster, was also said to have been the first settler there. In 1915 Riverton had a population of 200. At that time Riverton shipped coal mined locally by steamboat to California. The first coal mine opened in the county in 1854 and up to a quarter of people worked in what was then the region's most important industry. Riverton served as a coal-mining center for more than 50 years. In 1940, Riverton's population was 150, and the place served as a trading center for farmers who grew peas. ''The Dawn Rider'' is a 1935 American Western film starring John Wayne and directed by Robert N. Bradbury. The film was later released in a colorized version on home video/DVD under the title ''Cold Vengeance''. Plot John Mason arrives in town and soon has a fight with Ben McClure. After the fight the two have a drink together and discover that McClure works for Mason's father in his freight company.
