Lloyd Dane
Lloyd Dane (August 19, 1925 – December 11, 2015) was an American NASCAR Grand National Series driver from Eldon, Missouri. He participated part-time in the 1951 and 1954 to 1964 seasons, capturing four wins, all in his own car. Two of Dane's wins came during the 1956 season, when he finished 23rd in points. Dane first started racing in 1949 and was the first NASCAR Pacific Coast Late Model Series champion; he took the championship in 1954, 1956 and 1957. Eldon, Missouri
Eldon is a city in Miller County, Missouri, United States, located southwest of Jefferson City. The population was 4,416 as of the 2020 census. History Eldon was platted in 1881, and according to tradition, named after a railroad official. The railroad closed down in 1980 and is proposed to be transformed into the extension of the Rock Island Trail. A post office called Eldon has been in operation since 1881. 2019 tornado On the night of May 22, 2019, a tornado touched down west of Eldon. It came through Eldon damaging many homes and businesses. The ARCA Menards Series West, formerly the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West, NASCAR AutoZone West Series, NASCAR Winston West Series, NASCAR Winston Transcontinental Series and NASCAR Camping World West Series, is a regional stock car racing series owned and operated by the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) and the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR). Tim Flock
Julius Timothy Flock (May 11, 1924 – March 31, 1998) was an American stock car racer. He was a two-time NASCAR series champion. His brothers Bob and Fonty Flock also raced in NASCAR, as did his sister Ethel Mobley, NASCAR's second female driver. NASCAR career Tim Flock finished 5th in NASCAR's inaugural Strictly Stock race at Charlotte, North Carolina in 1949; he drove an Oldsmobile 88 that he borrowed from his newlywed neighbors. NASCAR's first official season ended with Flock in eighth, his brother Fonty Flock in fifth, and his other brother Bob Flock in third in the overall points standings. The Hudson Hornet is a full-size car manufactured by Hudson Motor Car Company of Detroit, Michigan from 1951 until 1954, when Nash-Kelvinator and Hudson merged to form American Motors Corporation (AMC).
