Llorenç Villalonga I Pons
Llorenç Villalonga i Pons (Palma de Mallorca, March 1, 1897 – January 27, 1980) was a Balearic writer and psychiatrist. While he progressed in his medicine studies, Villalonga traveled to France, Barcelona and Murcia. He gained experience in psychiatry during his stay in France. Villalonga began his career as a writer publishing his first book, entitled '' Mort de Dama'', which gained a lot of controversy for representing the decline of the rural aristocracy in the Balearic Islands during the 1920s. Palma (, ; ), also known as Palma de Mallorca (officially between 1983 and 1988, 2006–2008, and 2012–2016), is the capital and largest city of the Autonomous communities of Spain, autonomous community of the Balearic Islands in Spain. Mort De Dama
''Mort de dama'' (in Catalan: ''Death of a lady'') is the first novel of the Majorcan writer Llorenç Villalonga written in 1931. It is considered one of the first modern novels written in Catalan language from the Balearic Islands. It's a psychological and satirical novel, in which the author carries out a criticism of almost all social estates of that time, except for the Church. At that point, his criticism caused a great controversy among the readers, who made a negative review of the book. Villalonga himself dedicated it to «all those who do not get angry». The Nationalist faction (), also Rebel faction () and Francoist faction () was a major faction in the Spanish Civil War of 1936 to 1939. It was composed of a variety of right-leaning political groups that supported the Spanish Coup of July 1936 against the Second Spanish Republic and Republican faction and sought to depose Manuel Azaña, including the Falange, the CEDA, and two rival monarchist claimants: the Alfonsist Renovación Española and the Carlist Traditionalist Communion. The Falange Española Tradicionalista y de las Juntas de Ofensiva Nacional Sindicalista (; FET y de las JONS), frequently shortened to just "FET", was the sole legal party of the Francoist regime in Spain.
