Lliga Elit
The Lliga Elit, originally named ''Superlliga Catalana'', is the 6th tier of the Spanish football league system and the highest league in the autonomous community of Catalonia. The league was formed in 2022 to replace Primera Catalana as the first level of Catalonia, starting from the 2023–24 season. The Lliga Elit arose because the FCF considered it necessary to create a transition league between the regional and national divisions of Spanish football with the aim of helping Catalan teams to establish themselves in professional football. Structure The league comprises 16 teams. Over the course of a season, which runs annually from September to the following May, each team plays twice against the others in the league, once at 'home' and once 'away', resulting in each team competing in 30 games in total. The Catalan Football Federation ( ca, Federació Catalana de Futbol, es, Federación Catalana de Fútbol; FCF) is the football association responsible for administering football in Catalonia. It was formed on 11 November 1900 as the Football Associació de Catalunya ( en, Football Association of Catalonia). It was the first football association founded in Spain. The first president was Eduard Alesson and the original members included FC Barcelona, Català SC, Hispania AC and Sociedad Española de Football. Palamós () is a town and municipality in the Mediterranean Costa Brava, located in the ''comarca'' of Baix Empordà, in the province of Girona, Catalonia, Spain. Manlleu () is municipality in the comarca of Osona, in the province of Barcelona, Catalonia, northern Spain. Manlleu is located in a large plain, La Plana de Vic, at around 460 metres above sea level on average. The highest point is Puig Agut church at around 594 m above the sea level.
