Llars Mundet
The Recinte Mundet, also known as the Llars Mundet, Hogares Mundet or Campus Mundet, is an area of the Spanish and Catalan city of Barcelona, within the district of Horta-Guinardó and neighbourhood of Montbau. It originally housed a charitable institution, founded in 1957 by the Catalan-Mexican philanthropist Artur Mundet, which cared for orphans, the elderly, sick and needy. Horta-Guinardó () is the name of one of the districts of Barcelona, located in its North-Eastern corner. It is named after two very heterogeneous areas of the city, Horta and el Guinardó, which together cover a large area of 11.92 km², amounting to 11.9% of the total area of the city. A former municipality that eventually became part of the city in the late 19th century, it is bordered by five out of ten districts of Barcelona (Gràcia, Nou Barris, Eixample, Sant Andreu and Sant Martí), and by two other municipalities of the metropolitan area ( Sant Cugat and Cerdanyola del Vallès). Montbau
Montbau is a neighborhood in the Horta-Guinardó district of the city of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. In the eastern part of the neighborhood there is the campus Mundet, which had been the old Llars Mundet that was a charitable organization. In the campus there is the School of Psychology and pedagogy of the University of Barcelona, a geriatric home and schools. In the western part there is the Hospital Universitari Vall d'Hebron. Arturo Mundet Carbó ( ca, Artur Mundet i Carbó, ; Sant Antoni de Calonge, 8 April 1879 - Mexico City, 4 July 1965) was a Catalan businessman based in Mexico. Arturo Mundet came from a family of Catalan cork manufacturers, and first travelled to Mexico to establish a branch of the company business there. Mundet is a Barcelona Metro station, in the Horta-Guinardó district of Barcelona, which takes its name from the Recinte Mundet, an adjacent area that now houses a campus of the University of Barcelona. The station is served by line L3. The station is located underneath the '' Passeig de la Vall d'Hebron'' and the '' Ronda de Dalt'' expressway, between '' Avinguda de Can Marcet'' and '' Passeig dels Castanyers''. Access to the station is provided by an underground passageway allowing passengers to cross under the ''Ronda de Dalt''; access is by stairs, escalators, and elevators north of the station, and level to the south, allowing the station to be supplied with natural light. One level below the passageway is a single long island platform served by two flanking tracks. The station was opened in 2001, when the section of line L3 from Montbau station to Canyelles station was inaugurated. The Barcelona Metro (Catalan and Spanish: ) is an extensive network of rapid transit electrified railway lines that run mostly underground in central Barcelona and into the city's suburbs.
