CPD Llannefydd FC ( cy, Clwb Pêl Droed Llannefydd) is a Welsh football team based in Llannefydd, Conwy County Borough. The team play in the . History The club was formed in 1998 and the most notable season was 2016–17, when they won the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy Football League Premier Division title, Premier Cup and Premier Auxiliary Cup and just missed out on a quadruple when losing in the President's Cup Final to Abergele. They were promoted to the Welsh Alliance League Division Two where their best finish was as runner-up at the end of the 2019–20 season. The club then joined the North Wales Coast East Football League as part of the restructure of the Welsh football pyramid. Llannefydd
Llannefydd is a village and community in Conwy County Borough, in Wales. It is located on the border with Denbighshire, between the Afon Aled and River Elwy, north west of Denbigh, south west of St Asaph, south of Abergele and south east of Conwy. In the 2011 census the community parish had a population of 590. The community includes the village of Cefn Berain and part of the hamlet of Bont Newydd. Saint Nefydd and Saint Mary's church, founded in the fifth century, is Grade I listed; the farms of Berain and Plas Uchaf are Grade II* listed, while numerous agricultural buildings in the community, along with a number of bridges over the two rivers, are Grade II listed. In 1978, archaeological excavations in a cave at Bont-newydd, in the east of the community, unearthed the teeth and jawbone of an 11-year-old Neanderthal boy dating from 230,000 years ago, the oldest human remains discovered in Wales. Conwy County Borough ( cy, Bwrdeistref Sirol Conwy) is a county borough in Wales. It borders Gwynedd to the west and south, and Denbighshire to the east. The Vale of Clwyd and Conwy Football League ( cy, Dyffryn Clwyd & Chonwy) was a football league formed in 2011 following the split of the Clwyd Football League, which itself was formed in 1974 as an amalgamation of the Dyserth and the Halkyn Mountain League. The Premier Division was in the fifth level of the Welsh football league system in North Wales. The league folded in 2020 due to a reorganisation of the Welsh football league pyramid, with many teams joining the North Wales Coast East Football League. The league hosted several cup competitions: The President's Cup, The Premier Cup, The Halkyn Cup and the REM Jones Cup. The North Wales Coast East Football League is a football league in Wales, at tiers 4 and 5 of the Welsh football league system in North Wales, founded in 2020. The league is under the control of the North Wales Coast Football Association. The league replaced the former Vale of Clwyd and Conwy Football League, and covers the North East of Wales.
