Lizzy Borden is an American Heavy metal music, heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1983. To date, the band has charted on the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200 four times. Lizzy Borden is eponymous of the band's lead vocalist. History Early career (1983–1986) The band was founded in 1983 by brothers Lizzy Borden (born Gregory Charles Harges; June 23, 1960) and Joey Scott. The band got noticed after their song "Rod of Iron" featured on Metal Blade Records' ''Metal Massacre, Metal Massacre IV'' compilation LP. The band signed to Metal Blade in 1984 and released their debut EP ''Give 'Em the Axe'' in May of the same year. The band is named after the notorious Lizzie Borden, a woman accused and acquitted of murder in the late 19th century. Bang Your Head!!! was a heavy metal and hard rock festival held annually in Germany. First held in 1996 as a one-day indoor event in the Stefan-Hartmann-Halle in Tübingen with a crowd of 600 people, Bang Your Head!!! has since moved to Balingen, growing into a multi-day event attracting 1,800 people in 1998, 18,000 people in 1999 and 20,000 in 2005. Acts that have performed at this festival include W.A.S.P., Dio, Motörhead, Deep Purple, and Twisted Sister. The festival was discontinued in 2023. Joe Holmes
Joe Holmes (born June 11, 1963) is an American heavy metal guitarist best known for his stint with Ozzy Osbourne between 1995 and 2001. He has also played with Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth and the L.A. band Lizzy Borden in addition to leading his own bands, Terriff, and currently, Farmikos. Biography Born in New Jersey and raised in Los Angeles, Holmes took lessons from guitarist Randy Rhoads in 1979. Holmes formed Terriff in 1983 but left to join Lizzy Borden in 1987, appearing on the '' Visual Lies'' album. He left Lizzy Borden in 1988 and reformed Terriff, staying with the latter group until 1990.
