Live On Other Planets
''Live on Other Planets'' is a double live album by Supergrass. Released on 27 November 2020, it consists of songs recorded during the band's reunion tour from earlier that year. Its title is a play on the band's fourth studio album, ''Life on Other Planets''. Background In 2018, the former members of Supergrass set in motion plans for a reunion tour in 2020 with the purpose of celebrating the 25th and 10th anniversaries of their formation and break-up, respectively. Following a surprise set at Glastonbury Festival’s Pilton Party on 6 September 2019, the band announced their 2020 reunion tour dates in Europe and the U.S. The Supergrass reunion gigs were well-received, with their 21 February show at the Barrowland Ballroom in Glasgow garnering a five-star review from ''The Guardian''. However, after completing their February and early March tour dates in Europe and U.K., by mid-March the band had to cancel the rest of their gigs because of the COVID-19 pandemic, including shows ...

Their first album's fourth single, " Alright", was an international hit. The band went on to release five more albums: '' In It for the Money'' (1997), ''Supergrass'' (1999), '' Life on Other Planets'' (2002), '' Road to Rouen'' (2005) and '' Diamond Hoo Ha'' (2008), as well as a compilation called '' Supergrass Is 10'' (2004). Seen The Light
"Seen the Light" is a song by English rock band Supergrass. It was the third single from their fourth album ''Life on Other Planets''. It was the first Supergrass release on DVD and reached number 22 on the UK Singles Chart when it was released in January 2003. The B-Side "The Loner" is a cover version of a Neil Young song. Music video The video begins with the statement "All the world await this human drama, of man's faith in God", which then leads straight to the start of the song itself. It is mainly black-and-white footage (however, there is a brief period of colour film around the middle eight) of music concert goers, people experiencing religious revelations and preacher men. The video ends with a wild audience applauding 1950s teen idol Fabian Forte, and finally a preacher proclaiming; "When you get to heaven, it'll all be out, and over." "We're not actually in it," Goffey explains. "It's all really old footage of religious preachers mixed in with old footage of rock a ...

Caught By The Fuzz
"Caught by the Fuzz" is a song by English Britpop band Supergrass, released in October 1994 by Parlophone as the debut single from their first album, '' I Should Coco'' (1994). It was written by Gaz Coombes, Danny Goffey and Mick Quinn, and produced by Sam Williams and John Cornfield. The accompanying music video was directed by Dom and Nic, and made as a montage of footage of the band, both onstage and offstage. Background Supergrass had released "Caught by the Fuzz" and " Mansize Rooster" as singles on Backbeat Records, which sold out quickly and gained the interest of record producer Sam Williams, who then offered to record some demos of the band's other songs at Sawmills Studio. These acclaimed demos attracted major label interest, and after an A&R scrutinised gig at the Jericho Tavern in Oxford, they managed to secure a deal with Parlophone. Despite being a new and obscure band, critics welcomed Supergrass as a voice of youth, in part because they were so young, but ...

Bad Blood (Supergrass Song)
"Bad Blood" is the second single from British rock group Supergrass' sixth album, '' Diamond Hoo Ha''. It was released on 17 March 2008, which was one week before the album's release date. The song is about a rough night out in Reykjavík, Iceland, as Gaz Coombes explains; "We'd played the Airwaves festival, and it was about four in the morning, and right outside our bedroom window in Reykjavík there were loads of boozy scuffles. A really beautiful town, peaceful during the day – then it just went mental at night with drunken fights and shouting. I just thought the contrast was amazing. We carried on writing the lyrics later, using experiences we'd had, wandering around New York City at two in the morning, the worse for wear, and being excited by the dangers, but also being a bit naive. The big line in there is, "I don't believe that man needs God, thank God". Then it goes on: "I can't forget you, you're all I've got my love". It's saying man doesn't need God, he just needs ...

Lenny (Supergrass Song)
"Lenny" is a song by English rock band Supergrass, released in May 1995 by Parlophone as the fourth single from their debut album, '' I Should Coco'' (1995). It was produced by Sam Williams and reached number 10 on the UK Singles Chart, remaining on the chart for three weeks. Critical reception Pan-European magazine ''Music & Media'' wrote, "Steam hammer monotony in the intro soon turns into souped-up '60s pop brought with the right brattish attitude. Stay tuned for some 'Sex!' education on the hilarious country A country is a distinct part of the world, such as a state, nation, or other political entity. When referring to a specific polity, the term "country" may refer to a sovereign state, state with limited recognition, constituent country, ... bonus track." Boy George reviewed the song for '' Select'' and named it Georges Single of the Month, saying, "I just think this is really exciting. Quite sexual and uplifting. There's bits of T.Rex and all sorts of in ...

Alright (Supergrass Song)
"Alright" is a song by British alternative rock band Supergrass. It was released with "Time" as a double A-side single from their debut album, '' I Should Coco'' (1995), on 3 July 1995 by Parlophone. It was concurrently released on the soundtrack of the 1995 movie '' Clueless'', which helped it become a big hit for the band. "Alright" peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart, number six in Iceland, number eight in Ireland, number 21 in Finland and number 30 in France. The music video for the song was directed by Dom and Nic and filmed at Portmeirion in North Wales. Music and lyrics The "bona fide teen anthem", with its upbeat lyrics and cheerful piano tune, seemed to epitomise British youth culture at the time, when Britpop was at its height. The band's youthful appearance (lead singer Gaz Coombes was 19 at the time of its release) added weight to the lyrics. However, Coombes himself argued in an interview around October 1995, "it wasn't written as an anthem. It isn't su ...

Grace (Supergrass Song)
"Grace" is a song by Britpop band Supergrass. It was the second single to be taken from ''Life on Other Planets'' (2002), the band's fourth studio album. It was released on 16 September 2002 and reached number 13 on the UK Singles Chart. Unlike the previous single, " Never Done Nothing Like That Before", a vinyl-only release, it was released on all major formats. Background Gaz Coombes explained the meaning of the song: "This one came from the daughter of Chris Difford. Part of the record was done in the small studio right behind his home. While recording, we often got visited by his daughters. No, not that kind! They're really sweet children. Kids in the studio just add to the right atmosphere. You can do great jams with them. That's how 'Grace' developed. One of these girls always carried a small money box around. ''Save The Money For The Children'', it says. One day, Danny came in drunk, and started rambling on a piano, shouting all kinds of weird lyrics. So, we used t ...
