Liuboslav Hutsaliuk
Liuboslav Hutsaliuk (first name also variously spelled Lubomyr, Luboslau, Ljuboslav, or shortened to Lubo and surname also spelled Hucaljuk) (2 April 1923 in Lviv – 16 December 2003 in New York City) was a Ukrainian-American painter, graphic artist, cartoonist and caricaturist. Along with Edward Kozak, Mykola Butovich and Michael Moroz, Hutsaliuk was cited in 1972 as amongst the best known of Ukrainian painters living in the United States, and mentioned as "becoming increasingly popular". In 1982, he was again mentioned as one of Ukraine's "first rate artists" living in the United States. He was best known for his "neo-impressionist oil paintings of cityscapes, landscapes and still lifes." Biography Hutsaliuk was born in Lviv, Poland, on April 2, 1923. ''AGNI'' is an American literary magazine founded in 1972 that publishes poetry, fiction, essays, reviews, interviews, and artwork twice a year in print and weekly online from its home at Boston University. Its coeditors are Sven Birkerts and William Pierce. History and background ''AGNI'' was founded in 1972 at Antioch College by former undergraduate Askold Melnyczuk. After a brief residency in New Jersey, ''AGNI'' moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Sharon Dunn joined Melnyczuk as co-editor in 1977. From 1980 to 1987 Dunn was the magazine's editor, first in Cambridge, then for three years in Western Massachusetts. The University of Toronto Press is a Canadian university press founded in 1901. Although it was founded in 1901, the press did not actually publish any books until 1911. The press originally printed only examination books and the university calendar. Its first scholarly book was a work by a classics professor at University College, Toronto. The press took control of the university bookstore in 1933. It employed a novel typesetting method to print issues of the '' Canadian Journal of Mathematics'', founded in 1949. Encyclopedia Of Ukraine
The ''Encyclopedia of Ukraine'' ( uk, Енциклопедія українознавства, translit=Entsyklopediia ukrainoznavstva), published from 1984 to 2001, is a fundamental work of Ukrainian Studies. Development The work was created under the auspices of the Shevchenko Scientific Society in Europe ( Sarcelles, near Paris). As the ''Encyclopedia of Ukrainian Studies'' it conditionally consists of two parts, the first being a general part that consists of a three volume reference work divided in to subjects or themes. The second part is a 10 volume encyclopedia with entries arranged alphabetically. The editor-in-chief of Volumes I and II (published in 1984 and 1988 respectively) was Volodymyr Kubijovyč. The concluding three volumes, with Danylo Husar Struk as editor-in-chief, appeared in 1993. Galerie Ror Volmar or Ror Volmar Gallery was an influential art gallery located at 58 Rue de Bourgogne in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. The gallery specialized in contemporary figurative painters.
