Liu Yan (; died 23 ADIn ''Book of the Later Han'' (in Emperor Guangwu's biography), Liu Yan's death was placed between the ''jimao'' day of the 6th month and the ''gengxu'' day of the 9th month of the 1st year of the ''Gengshi'' era; the two dates corresponds to 7 Jul and 6 Oct 23 CE in the Julian calendar.), courtesy name Bosheng (), posthumous name Prince Wu of Qi (齊武王), was a Chinese general of one of the major uprisings against the Xin dynasty. Although he was militarily successful, he died early as a victim of political intrigue. His younger brother, Liu Xiu, however, would eventually found the Eastern Han dynasty.
