Liu Luyang
Liu Luyang (born June 10, 1976) is a Chinese ice dancer. With partner Zhao Xiaolei, she is the 1986 Asian Winter Games champion. They placed 19th at the 1988 Winter Olympics and Liu was 11 years old at the time. Before teaming up with Zhao, she competed with Li Xiangdong. Zhao Xiaolei (born August 3, 1966, in Heilongjiang) is a Chinese ice dancer. He competed at two Winter Olympic Games with two different partners. With partner Liu Luyang, he is the 1986 Asian Winter Games champion. Liu & Zhao placed 19th at the 1988 Winter Olympics. World Figure Skating Championships
The World Figure Skating Championships are an annual figure skating competition sanctioned by the International Skating Union (ISU). The first World Championships were held in 1896 in Saint Petersburg, Russia, and they have been held ever since with only four interruptions. A separate competition for women was established in 1905, with the men's and women's events held as separate competitions for several years. Pair skating was added in 1908 and ice dance in 1952. Skaters are eligible to compete at the World Championships, provided they represent a member nation of the International Skating Union and are selected by their respective federation. Skating federations have the liberty to make their own selections, but skaters competing at the World Championships must have earned the minimum required element scores. NHK Trophy
The NHK Trophy is an annual figure skating competition sanctioned by the International Skating Union (ISU), organized and hosted by the Japan Skating Federation. The first NHK Trophy was held in 1979 in Tokyo. When the ISU launched the Champions Series (later renamed the Grand Prix Series) in 1995, the NHK Trophy was one of the five qualifying events. It has been a Grand Prix event every year since. Medals may be awarded in men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance. Skaters earn points based on their results at the qualifying competitions each season, and the top skaters or teams in each discipline are invited to then compete at the Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final.
