Liu Heping
Liu Heping (; born 1953) is a Chinese screenwriter and novelist who is best known for his historical dramas. Biography Liu was from Shaodong and born in Hengyang, Hunan Province, southern China in 1953. His father was a playwright, and his mother was an opera actor. His dramatisation of the final years of the Jiajing Emperor, ''Ming Dynasty in 1566,'' was released as a TV drama and a series of novels in 2007. In 2014, his drama about the Chinese Civil War, ''All Quiet in Peking,'' was also released in both TV and novel formats. Hengyang (; ) is the second largest city of Hunan Province, China. It straddles the Xiang River about south of the provincial capital of Changsha. ''Li Wei the Magistrate'', also known as ''Li Wei Becomes an Official'', is a 2001 Chinese television historical comedy-drama starring Xu Zheng as a young Li Wei, an illiterate county magistrate who would become one of the most prominent officials during 18th-century Qing dynasty. Jiajing Emperor
The Jiajing Emperor (; 16September 150723January 1567) was the 12th Emperor of the Ming dynasty, reigning from 1521 to 1567. Born Zhu Houcong, he was the former Zhengde Emperor's cousin. His father, Zhu Youyuan (1476–1519), Prince of Xing, was the fourth son of the Chenghua Emperor (reigned from 1464 to 1487) and the eldest son of three sons born to the emperor's concubine, Lady Shao. The Chinese Civil War was fought between the Kuomintang-led government of the Republic of China and forces of the Chinese Communist Party, continuing intermittently since 1 August 1927 until 7 December 1949 with a Communist victory on mainland China. The war is generally divided into two phases with an interlude: from August 1927 to 1937, the KMT-CCP Alliance collapsed during the Northern Expedition, and the Nationalists controlled most of China.
