Liu Banjiu
Liu Banjiu (; 8 November 1922 – 29 September 2009), also known by his pen name Lǜyuán () was a Chinese translator and poet. Life Liu was born in Huangpi District of Wuhan city, Hubei in November 1922. Liu graduated from Fudan University in 1944, where he majored in foreign languages. After graduation, he worked as an English teacher in Sichuan and Wuhan. Liu started to publish poetry in 1941. Liu joined the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in 1949. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Liu worked as an editor in the CCP Propaganda Department. In 1955, Liu suffered political persecution in the counter-revolutionary case of Hu Feng (), at the same time, he learned German language by himself. In 1962, Liu worked in the People's Literature Publishing House as an editor. Liu retired in 1988. Huangpi District
Huangpi District () is one of 13 urban districts of the prefecture-level city of Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, China, situated on the northern (left) bank of the Yangtze River. The Sheshui enters the Yangtze at Huangpi. The district is primarily rural, but also includes important infrastructure facilities, such as Wuhan Tianhe International Airport and Wuhan North Railway Station, which is one of the main freight stations and classification yards on the Beijing–Guangzhou Railway. It is the northernmost of Wuhan's districts as well as the most spacious. On the left bank of the Yangtze, it borders the districts of Xinzhou to the east, and Jiang'an to the south, and Dongxihu to the southwest; on the opposite bank, it borders Hongshan. Hu Feng
Hu Feng (, November 2, 1902 – June 8, 1985) was a Chinese Marxist writer, poet and literary theorist. He was a prominent member of the League of Left-Wing Writers. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Hu Feng became a member of the First National People's Congress of China, but was then heavily persecuted as the chief of the Hu Feng Counter-revolutionary Clique (). Fudan University (FDU) is a national public university in Yangpu, Shanghai, China. It is affiliated with the Ministry of Education and is co-funded with the Shanghai Municipal Government. Translators Association Of China
The Translators Association of China (TAC) () is a national association for translation studies in China. Founded in the 1980s TAC was part of the academic response to the national Economic Reform in 1978. The incumbent President of TAC's 6th Executive Committee is the former Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing, who in the meantime chairs the Foreign Affairs Committee of China. TAC routinely hosts annual national symposium on varied topics related to translation and interpretation theories and practices. To facilitate the academic communication, it publishes bi-monthly periodical '' Chinese Translators Journal'' since 1983. In addition, the Association regulates the domestic translation service market through its Translation Service Committee, which was set up in 2003, in order to promote ethical business practices.
