Little Stoke
Little Stoke is a village in the parish of Stoke Gifford, situated in South Gloucestershire, England. It is surrounded by Patchway, Stoke Gifford and Bradley Stoke. Home to Patchway railway station, a minor stop on the railway network, the Rail tracks, railway line separates Little Stoke from the large Rolls-Royce Limited, Rolls-Royce factories in nearby Filton. Gipsy Patch Lane Bridge provides access under the line. Little Stoke is home to a large playing field and a community hall. The community hall is now home to a café - ‘Little Stoke Community Cafe’. Near the railway arch are some local shops including a post office. Many of the Street name, road names are linked to engines produced in the 1950s and 1960s at what is now the Rolls-Royce factory. The Bristol and District Football League currently known as the uhlsport Bristol and District Football League is a football competition based in Bristol, England. The top division in this league, which is the Senior Division, sits at level 14 of the English football league system and is a feeder to the Bristol Premier Combination. Parkrun
Parkrun (stylised as parkrun) is a collection of 5K run, events for runners, walkers and volunteers that take place every Saturday morning at more than 2,000 locations in 23 countries across five continents. Parkrun was founded by Paul Sinton-Hewitt on 2 October 2004 at Bushy Park in London, England. The event was originally called the Bushy Parkrun, Bushy Park Time Trial. It grew into a network of similar events called the UK Time Trials, before adopting the name Parkrun in 2008 and expanding into other countries. Marlwood School
Marlwood School (founded 1606) is a state-funded co-educational secondary school currently part of the CSET multi-academy trust. Located at Alveston, South Gloucestershire, it is situated on the B3561 on the outskirts of the south-west of the village. Marlwood School has around 550 pupils aged 11–16. In its most recent Ofsted inspection, Marlwood was rated ‘Good’ in all areas. The Castle School
The Castle School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located in Thornbury, South Gloucestershire, England, which serves the town and the surrounding villages. Pupils from Bristol also attend the school. There are around 1,500 pupils, including 300 in the sixth form. The school site on Park Road has seen additions in recent years including the community sports centre, the Octagon Drama Studio and in 2024 a new Post-16 Centre and a 20-classroom Maths and Science building. The Winterbourne Academy, is a co-educational school in South Gloucestershire. The school is in the village of Winterbourne in South Gloucestershire, on the outskirts of Bristol, England. History The Ridings High School was founded in 1957. It was opened by the then Member of Parliament for Bristol South East, Tony Benn.
